It took me years to write this but I really felt I had too. Dr. Mikesell treated me 3 years ago at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospitals emergency room. I was admitted for 2 days. Dr. Mikesell diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis. When I asked him why is that he's so sure that it's MS and nothing else his answer to me was IF IT LOOKS LIKE A DUCK Quakes LIKE A DUCK IT'S A DUCK. Needless to say I never went back to him! His arrogance was beyond me. I refused to accept such diagnoses and went to Rush Hospital on Ashland and Harrison. They have an amazing Multiple Sclerosis specialty department which I HIGHLY recommend. To make a long story short after another MRI and multiple eye exams by a neuro ophthalmologist it's been confirmed. I was misdiagnosed. I don't have MS! I never thought a Doctor would ever speak to me like he did. It's almost as if I was being shamed for getting sick. You know because you have control over your body and can control getting sick.

Waited 6 months for the appointment I had for 2/9/2017 and when I called to confirm the appt today 2/7/2017, was advised from operator all appts had been cancelled till JULY 2017. What? ....they couldn't leave a message on my voice mail that it had been cancelled, no email?? What a waste of my time!!

Rude , arrogant and will not listen to you. Will not give you the time you need to explain your medical problem. Compassion is alien to this person. This is the neurologist / Md i would see only if there were no other choices. He may not be a bad doctor but his ability to interact with his patient leaves a lot of diagnosis in the dark. How can he know your medical status if he doesn't listen to you.with him you get five minutes and you may have had to wait two months for the appointment.

Dr.Mikesell clearly needs to find another profession because doctor is not it. I had brain surgery and had permanent damage to an area of my brain that was clear on mri and from my surgeon. This guy was rude and clueless to this information and clearly was not trained well in medical school. My surgeon and other competent neurologists told me I'm a survivor and tough. All of us Neuro patients are tough people. Why do you think the tough football players and shooting themselves to death.

Very robotic, nothing as his short video portrays himself. In and out of the visit with a flash with absolutely zero friendliness and listening skill. His staff was just as bad. Had to have some test done urgently and the front staff told me to wait 3 days so she can put a refferal in the computer. Would not recommend him.

Dr. Mikesell was very abrupt and seemed irritated from the moment he walked in. He continuously interrupted me and barely allowed me a chance to speak. I wouldn't see him again.
