Dr. Thomas Zavoral, MD

I went to the ER on Pine Forrest where Dr Zavoral saw me. I find that he was actually helpful as much as he could. It’s an ER anyway. I went there for chronic shoulder pain and he advised I might have a torn rotator cuff. He recommended the proper medication and he been listened to me as a patient who hates narcotics. He was pretty understanding of that and prescribed based on my concerns and needs. I was pretty satisfied with this visit and highly recommend HCA FL ER. This was my second time and both were great experiences with different doctors.

I went into Pine Forest ER with a left knee injury, unable to walk, and was sent home on crutches with a diagnosis of a slipped disc by Dr. Zavoral. He didn't want to do any tests or imaging and only agreed to x-rays upon my request, calling them "unnecessary tests." After seeing a different doctor a few days later, I found out I had a torn meniscus, a cyst, a full thickness cartilage defect, and a bone marrow lesion. Dr. Thomas Zavoral was very arrogant and condescending and didn't like being questioned about his rushed guess of a diagnosis. I do NOT recommend anyone sees him as a patient, request anyone else or go anywhere else. My experience with the Dr. Zavoral, his attitude, and his incorrect diagnosis made me feel insane for complaining of such severe knee pain and not being able to walk. Turns out he was completely incorrect and didn't care to figure out the correct diagnosis.

Just terrible. Cares more about his pay than well being of patients. Wants to argue with you instead of being sympathetic to one’s situation.

If I could give a negative 5 star I would! This doctor was rude, condescending, intimidating, and completely ignorant as he ignored my reason and concerns for why I had to be there. First as a Disabled Veteran my only opportunity for medical care is the Emergency Room, and had be directed to go if needed. When this Doctor walks in to the exam room I am in, asked me why I was there. I explained my situation as I had seen a VA doctor about my condition and had also been diagnosed by a Doctor from a online clinic. When I finished, he looks at my concerns and tells me I’m wrong! I am imagining why condition when I try to explain and show him so he can look closer, he remains on the other side of the room, and tells me that he knows what I’m saying is not true because as a doctor he knows.. in the end rather than treating what is possibly life threatening, suggest I stop harming myself and is oddment I seek a mental facility for treatment! and puts this on my discharge paperwork!
