Doctor Sweeney listened carefully to my story of the development of my infection, asking questions along the way, and prescribed an antibiotic which worked without side effects, after the one they gave me in the ER proved intolerable. He and a colleague had an office together where I was a patient for many years. When the colleague retired, Dr Sweeney affiliated with Martha Jefferson Internal Medicine. I feel very lucky to have his continued support.

After 45 years old I had to find a new Primary Care Doc. I came away from the first visit very skeptical. He seemed very focused on my BP than all my other past issues; low t, cornea transplant, knee surgeries, etc. Most recently I woke up with total numbness in my left index finger, thumb, middle finger, etc. He seemed more amazed then experienced in what was going on and focused more on my HP. He's had the results of the MRI for a week and no call. I will no longer go back to him.

Dr Sweeny seems to be looking for retirement and not really interested in understanding patient issues. Very nice and ok for common cold treatment but don't expect anything remarkable. Not really sure why he closed his office and joined another group. Doesn't really reflect well on office he joined. The office staff is great and not sure about his fellow physicians bit I hear they have good reputations but not taking on new patients. Dr. Sweeny was only on e available and now it is clear why.
