Uncaring & Arrogant
I found him to be completely uncaring and condescending the first time I was scheduled with him and only slightly better the second time I had to see him 10 months later. That is why I chose their nurse practitioner to be my primary caregiver at this practice because she is awesome and listens to my health issues and really cares. Dr. Slokan was rude, did not want to listen or believe my concerns and basically bullied his way through my first visit and didn't believe me when I told him about my symptoms . I would never recommend him for treating anyone or anything quite frankly but the nurse I practitioner is the complete opposite of his uncaring manner.

Changed practices the next day. He is not nice and didn’t care about anything I had to say. He really made me feel unimportant. Go somewhere else. Trinity keeps losing good doctors for a reason. People deserve respect even from your doctor. I have no confidence in them anymore. PA, NA and this man. No confidence that they give a darn about me or anyone else.

Good choice
I chose Dr. Slokan when my doctor retired. I had been going to the same doctor for over 35 years. I found Dr. Slokan to be kind, understanding, and very personable. He made my transition easy. A member of his team called me to follow up on a medication change he prescribed for me. Who does that now a days? His staff was very friendly too. All in all it was a great choice.

Zero bedside manner
Serious lack of bedside manner and empathy. Wants you in and out. I’m sorry but a patient’s overall health, mentally and physically, are part of the picture. It’s just not about checking your bp, listening to your lungs and heart and ordering labs. He needs a course in listening and understanding and caring about his patients. If his family member received the type of ignorant care he provides he’d be appalled.

Switched from my local family medicine physician to Dr. Slokan in November of 2015. Could not be happier. Even though I am in my 60s, my overall health is very good. Therefore, my medical needs are minimal ... ranging from annual check-ups and immunizations to recurring/routine prescriptions. Dr. Slokan listens to and understands my needs and concerns. Feedback and communication from him and his staff to me is timely, accurate and on point. Office staff is always friendly and helpful.
