Pleasant! Dr. Shoemaker listen to my concerns. He treated me like an actual human being. Unlike the other neurologist I saw prior to him at Advocate health care which led me to find another doctor. When your going to see a neurologist it's usually because something serious is going on and you're terrified of what he might confirm. He always made me feel comfortable and that he actually cared about my well being and I wasn't just a number to him. I was seeing him to get a second opinion on an MS diagnosis. Thankfully he didn't agree with the other doctor.

Dr. Shoemaker was very thorough with his explanations. When I first visited him a few months ago, I informed the staff that I learn best through reading and discussions, and Dr. Shoemaker always remembers to talk and write out any import at information he relays to me. If he uses specific/unfamiliar medical terms, he does a great job of explaining it/simplifying words.

Great first visit. He and everyone else I dealt with were wonderful. They explained things well, I felt heard and comfortable asking questions. It was a long visit, but it didn't feel rushed and I wasn't left waiting for anything very long.

Absolutely hands down THE worst doctor let alone so called MS specialist. He is wishy washy at best. I wouldn't trust him to treat a stray dog let alone a human being. He delayed my treatment and sent me for unnecessary procedures. Of all the alleged doctors I have ever seen he is the absolute worst. My attorney will be the next contact. If I could give negative stars I would.
