I'm curious
I remember a Dr. Scully who was one of my neurosurgeons in the late 1980s at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. Im curious to know if this is he. If so Scully and him team were beyond excellent. My surgery lasted about 12 hours. I'm not sure if this is the correct Dr. Scully as the surgery was 30 or more years ago; but If so I'd like Dr. Scully to know I'm doing well.

Wrong v level surgery
Thomas Scully operated at the wrong level of my spine and lied about it. I could no longer work as an ER nurse. He was running 2 hours late and had an ice pack on his back for pain. God knows.

Dr Scully has performed three operations on me, two on my neck and one on my back. He only recommended the neck surgery when my neurological symptoms worsened. He was patient and very competent. H squeezed me in for a visit and subsequent surgery when I had a SEVERE RUPTURED DISC in my back. It relieved a lot of the neurological symptoms and he prescribed physical therapy for strengthening and definitely listened to my issues.

I visited Dr. Scully with 5 ruptured discs, spinal stenosis and the onset of Scoliosis. I had pain from my lower back through my leg. Dr. Scully recommended the least evasive cure that I should try to avoid an extensive operation. He has a PA, named Alicia. I met with her and she recommended the Pain Clinic Dr. Jose Chavez. I made an appointment and discussed a procedure with Dr. Chavez, again the least evasive procedure was a shot in the spine, exactly where needed. It was extremely successful. I thank Dr's Scully and Chavez and Alicia for their great care and understanding. Lanny Colton

I was referred to Dr. Scully by many people. Everyone has said great things about him. I know people who have had great outcomes with his assistance. However, his front office medical staff is horribly rude. They interrupt you, demand information from you and behave like the Dr.'s pit-bulls rather than medical professionals. I would never be able to trust a Dr. or feel comfortable to work with a medical provider who allows such abusive behavior from his staff.

Dr Scully performed a minimally invasive procedure on my lower back. He did what is called a discectomy and laminectomy as well as decompress a cyst that was pushing on my spinal cord. He explained everything, and was very compassionate and professional. would HIGHLY recommend this doctor for any neurosurgery issues.

This is a man who has mastered his field, he is extremely knowledgeable and capable in diagnosing and resolving neurological problems. But what impressed me the most was his compassion, understanding and comforting nature. His office personnel share these approaches to patient care with him and a hard situation is less hard because of him and his staff.

I had injured my neck in Afghanistan and met with Dr. Scully and his PA. They were both professional, informative. the did an assessment of my neck and called me at home that evening and said that they had scheduled me for surgery. The procedure went well, several hrs. I recovered and went back to Afghanistan. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Scully and his entire staff. E3veryone was pleasant and courteous. Thank you to Dr. Scully and the Staff.

While I liked Dr. Scully and respected his opinions I have issues with his communication. I had back surgery and had problems right from the start. I would consider it a failed surgery. I know it doesn't always go according to plan but that's not my concern. I feel Dr. Scully didn't apologize for the failure nor did I get a acceptable explanation for why it happened. For those reasons I didn't give him an excellent.
