Dr. Ratino was very thorough with diagnosing me. He had a CT scan done of my back, which is where my problem is, and since he acknowledges that I'm stuck with my issue for life, he's told me to take my prescriptions on a regular basis, to stay ahead of my pain. His whole staff has always been: friendly, professional and never seem to lose their cool, no matter how upset the patient may get. I've never had any problems from: scheduling my appointments, to being in the office, to receiving my prescriptions when they're due. I've gladly been a patient of Dr. Ratino's for many years now, and I have no intentions of leaving. Both Dr. Ratinos have a wonderful sense of humor.

Bad Dr. !!
I had seen dr ratino had me on a Pain Pump with and had me taking hydrocodone and Am because he said I could do the CBD I tested positive for THC and he let me go within a month didn’t refill. My pain pump didn’t refill my medication. I had to go through 3 to 4 months of withdrawal because of him don’t step out of line or he will spank you even when he is not helping you if you complain about the pain and the drugs not helping you, he leaves the pump in you and send you away!!!

Poor experience each time
The office staff lacks professionalism and care. Hours on hold throughout the day trying to resolve their mistakes. You would think they would be sensitive to successfully calling in refill prescriptions so that patients would not have to endure pain without medication…unfortunately that is not the case. Helping an elderly family member in chronic pain, and we are lucky to see the dr once a year. Most whom we deal are not medically licensed, just assistants, don’t even look you in the eye. Want to feel like an addict drug seeker looking for a fix, then this is the place for you. Desperately trying to break away from this practice, but it’s very difficult to find a way out of this hole. And our normal pharmacy will NOT fill their prescriptions, they are on a black list. Patient beware…

Doctor that's not Doctoring
Well I am a care taker of a patient of his and he has been trying and trying to get ahold of him to get his medication filled and somehow the prescription ended up going to Arkansas now how does that happen now he can't even get a hold of the doctor at all and he is his pain pump management doctor too so I have to say I don't classify him very well

This by far is the most unprofessional medical center regarding my husband and his chronic back pain. My husband has scoliosis and has suffered with debilitating pain for the majority of his adult life. On numerous occasions this motley crew of pinheads have dropped the ball and left my husband in pain despite the fact he did exactly as they asked. I.E., when he had surgery on his hand he was told to advise the office staff of his surgery 6 weeks prior so that they would be aware of his née for additional pain medication afterward. We attempted to contact them repeatedly — no one returned his calls— he had the necessary surgery on his hand but of course received NO MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FROM RATINO’S staff afterward. This didn’t happen of course because he was admonished for not contacting them despite the fact he repeatedly tried over and over again and so he suffered immeasurable pain from the surgery because this facility would not give him the medication to which he was entitled. Then add INSULT TO INJURY LITERALLY when he went into Ratino’ s facility, he was denied his prescription and was told narcotics were detected in his system…the very narcotics used during SURGERY YOU MORONS. THE VERY MEDICATION USED BY THE Anesthesiologist during the surgery. He came home extremely upset. So I called the office and the physician assistant actually LIED to me and said — yes — he had been in the office already after the surgery and that he tested positive during his second appointment. NO HE HAD NOT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME he’d been there. So the following month, OUT OF MEDS AT THIS POINT, he went to his scheduled appointment and thank God, my husband finally developed the strength to let THE DOCTOR know exactly how he has been treated by THIS MISERABLE STAFF. UGLY human beings unbelievably unprofessional. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING utilizing this clinic for pain management I beseech you to run screaming from this building. Compassion is in short supply. They look at their clientele is drug attic’s looking for a quick fix. You’ll only get accusations, mistrust and judgmental behavior. By far the most unprofessional organization. The doctor clearly has no clue what’s going on In conclusion, to let you know how bad it was — my husband decided to wean himself off of the medication so we wouldn’t have to deal with these people ever again. He still suffers in pain but he’d rather deal with it independently than be subjected to the staff of Dr Ratino. How sad that is. Should anyone want additional information, I would be more than happy to share with you the FAX that I sent to them in reference to their unprofessional behavior CONCERNING A SEPARATE incident.

Disorganized unprofessional disaster
Visited Tom Ratino 1 month ago. Harvey severe pain due to Sarcoidosis. Been on pain meds but still having pain so my specialist sent me to him. He added a short acting to add. It helped. Time to renew and he actually ordered less than what I was taking when I went to him like he forgot what we discussed. Even have pt summary of plan but not followed. People in his office don’t even know enough to explain it to them. You can’t talk to him. Put on hold for 1 hour on phone. Don’t go there. Very unprofessional. Messed up my pain management. Went back to my pcp. If you go there take a recorder because he does not remember what he tells you and there is no common sense to his treatment. Never seen a worse run practice in all my years. I’m 70.

Dr. Ratino and PA Rebecca Martin are excellent. I've been with them since 2015 and I've had nothing but great care from them out of the Weatherford office. There are some office staff that are management that are very rude and a MA that I used to see that is no longer with the clinic. I do recommend him to other patients.

Decent Doctor, Horrible Office Staff.
0 stars. Find another clinic or provider. Texas Oncology Dallas Baylor referred us, I’m going to let them know that the clinic is a poor referral and should be removed from their list. The prescriptions for my dad, a cancer patient with chronic pain, were never called in. As far as I can tell, the office staff never answers the phone either. I’ve been #1 in the call queue for 30min and the office closes in 45min (12:00pm on Fridays). This falls right into the other common complaints in these reviews. Dr. Tim is good, but the staff puts my family at risk.Update 05 Apr 2024: 1:00pm - My father's prescription was 'On Review' by the doctor. Not sure why it needs physician review since Dr. Tim was in the room when Dr. Tim prescribed the medication on the 4th of April. I was told the office would have the prescription ready today (April 5, 2024). Pharmacy was never contacted. Office closed at 12:00pm. My 83 year old cancer patient father now has to go though the weekend without help.

My first appointment with doctor Tom was a little over a year ago. He came highly recommend by a friend and doctor himself and I’m thankful I did. He listened to me and my story. He asked questions and so did I. I felt like by the end of our meeting and exam I had the feeling that I had his full attention and we had a game plan I have been seeing his PA Rebecca. I’m completely comfortable with her. She certainly knows her stuff and she listens and explains her answers to my questions in layman and I can therefore make an informed decision. She has certainly become a valuable asset to Dr Tom’s team and staff l I not only would recommend I have recommended Dr Ratino to 2 friends and both have thanked me. Charles Rogers

The most compassionate and caring pain expert
I have been seeing Dr Tom Ratino since 2006. He has always been nothing but caring, compassionate and always treated me with respect. He cares about helping his legitimate pain patients and goes out of his way to do his best (with 20+ years of expertise) to help the patient be as comfortable as they can be.Office staff is for the most part great. The systems in place for answering phones is not good and the system in which the Nurse calls you back to the room is not a good one, BUT there used to be a 3-4 hour wait (back in the day) and now it's never more than 30min to 1 hour, so I'm happy. Their new office is great and more comfortable and more efficient (bothe the new Ft. Worth location and the Weatherford location). He is a strong 5 star rating with me.

I didn't pay attention to when those reviews posted that talked about the staff at Dr. Ratino's, but I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with them. I had some very bad experiences with the staff at my old pain management Dr. so it was a pleasant surprise. The Dr. seems nice I just haven''t had any relief yet which isn't really the Dr.'s fault that has more to do with my insurance not wanting to pay for anything.

You get what you put out there, folks
So many attacks on this office - granted, the waits "on hold" are frustrating and the office staff can seem a bit underwhelmed, but a smile and a kind word go a mile with people in their circumstance. Snapping back at people will get you nowhere fast. Treat as you'd like to be treated, and all that jazz. And all of that becomes trivial when you realize Dr. Tom Ratino has done more for my issues in the month I've been seeing him than in 25 years seeking relief from other doctors. I couldn't be more pleased.

Office staff
While doctors are somewhat acceptable, calling this office takes a minimum of 45 minutes on hold to talk to an operator and getting someone to return a call is hit or miss at best. My advice is RUN, don’t walk away from this practice!!!

Terrible Office Support Team
Dr. Ratino is very nice and helpful, however his office support is disorganized, unreliable, and often rude. Every time I need something done, I have to follow up multiple times, just to learn they can't find a fax that was send days ago, or prescriptions have not been sent to the pharmacy, etc. They say they will call me to back to confirm, but then never do. If you rely on pain medicine for surgeries etc., these are not people that you can count on to get you what you need. Dr. Ratino is only as good as his office staff. He can prescribe things, but don't count on getting it in a timely manner without having to call multiple times a day to follow up. Also, if you request to leave a message for Dr. Ratino's NP or MA, they may or may not agree to pass along a message. I was told flat out that they would not provide certain information to his medical assistant after requesting that certain info be relayed.
