Dr. Thomas Lindenfeld, MD

I had a sensitive spot just past my knee. At the Drs. office I saw him drink from a flask. I told him about my bump and he had me wait because he wanted his 2 colleagues to see it as well. Once they arrived he said to them "remember that one lady that had a similar problem and she had fluid all the way from here to here" They shook their heads while he felt up and down both of my legs. One hand touched my ankle and the other right on my privates. I was stunned and I looked up at him and he was smiling at me. He saw my scared expression and removed his hands after about 10 seconds and elbowed both of his Indian colleagues and laughed. I did end up having a knee scope done because he said I needed one.In reality I did not need the surgery. He ended up giving me chondromalacia, spurs and pre-petellar bursitus from his surgery and I still have the original problem. He also had told me before the surgery he would remove the bursa and said it would grow back but that is false.

This is the type of doc that gives orthos a bad name. Many of his treatment plans are severely outdated, he tries to treat (and even perform surgery) on areas that he is not as well versed in as he could be, and bad mouths other doctors within the Mercy network. If he is recommending a surgery for you please consider obtaining a second opinion of a doc that specializes in the joint or condition that is affecting you.

Never met any Doctor that came across as poorly as this man. I'm 74 in terrible pain from torn quadricep. When I left him I felt worse than I went in. Both mentally and physically. He wouldn't prescribe an aspirin for me. I have to crawl around in the morning. I don't know what to do. Visit 10/2/20

Had an IT band surgery with Dr. Lindenfeld. Very knowledgeable and to the point. Don't mistake his knowledge for arrogance. I highly recommend this man!

There is something wrong with Dr. Lindenfeld. My husband went to him after a bad fall with his knee. He did x-rays, but apparently didn't review them. Told my husband he didn't need surgery & had him do physical therapy at his office. After about 6 visits of pt, my husband was in so much pain. Then I went with him to see this dr & it was awful. I told my husband that he was getting a second opinion. He went to Beacon West & needs a total knee replacement. Always ask to see your x-rays!

I went to Dr Lindenfeld as a new patient knowing i eventually need a TKR. He spent zero time getting to know me, was extremely brusque and had no bedside manner. I should have listened to these reviews before going in the first time. I won’t be back.

Worst bedside manner i have ever come in contact with. I would not recommend him to anyone! Im a nurse and deal with doctors everyday and he is by far the worst. DONT go to him!

He was very rude and abrasive with my mother who is 72 yrs old. Zero bedside manner. We would never return to this practice.

Went to Dr Lindenfeld for a knee replacement. Very thorough checking for infection prior to surgery. I am not a typical case.
