Bed-side manner has gone down - 0 stars, honestly
He's been our doctor for 20 years. He used to be so sharp. But for the last 3 years, his bedside manner and care has gone down the drain. He dismissed my husband’s complaints and misdiagnosed him. When he finally referred him to an oncologist, it was already Stage 4 and he passed away. He referred me to get surgery in 2021 and he has no record of it. I can't even get my records to go to another specialist. His staff named Dale is the rudest person. She’s bothered when I call their office to request for my lab or test results. She told me Why don't you just find another doctor and stop bothering us. Dale verbally read me x-ray results of another patient. I had the actual results on my hand by the time she got back to me, so I knew she was lying. Dr. Kanagae prescribed me antibiotics directly to CVS. Dale said he forgot the reason. They tried to put me in hospice. WHY? He also sent, without my permission, a caregiver who charged $4K week & did nothing for me after surgery.

Dr Kanegae is absolutely wonderful and we were very fortunate to find him. My mom went through a series of doctors and he is the only doctor who investigated how she went from fully independent to maximum assist (instead of accepting a new baseline). He is extremely knowledgeable, curious and above all HONEST - not shying away from giving real opinions and proactive in patient care. I consider his approach a lost art and we need more doctors of his caliber.

10+++ Service knowledgeable and has great Patient Side Manners along with VERY THOROUGH with Identifying your Health concerns and issues!!! 10+++ been our Family Dr. for 20+ Years!!! Staff is Wonderful and courteous along with 10+++ Service also!!! They know how to Run the Office!!!??????10+++ Service!!! Don’t forget switch to Dr. Kanegae and Staff when you have Open Enrollment!!!10+++ Service

My Dad was a patient of Dr. Kanegae for decades and always received outstanding care. In 1990, Dr. Kanegae performed a triple bypass, and my dad lived for almost 30 years afterwards, twice the average post-surgery life expectancy.
