Dr Helpenstell replaced both of my knees, 3 months apart. The procedure was way easier than I anticipated and the results have been wonderful ~ 3 years later. After my second operation, Dr Helpenstell called me at home to see how I was doing! I have never experienced that level of caring before. Every time I was in the office for a follow-up visit with his PA or for another reason, if I saw him, he stopped what he was doing and came over to greet me and ask how I was doing. In this age of doctors having little to no time for patients, he was the exception. I feel blessed to have experienced him. Thank you

Dr. Helpenstell replaced my knee after 18 years of treatment (shots ).Very happy I was has last patient before he retires. He will be greatly missed. I do believe that when he tells me the Dr. “B” that’s taking his place will be a perfect fit for Oly Ortho.

Dr Helpenstell is very skilled and personable. He explains options thoroughly and is very professional. He performed a total hip replacement on me a year ago and did an excellent job.

He listened & did not make us (patient & caregiver) feel rushed. Answered ever question and gave us total confidence that we were on the right track. You can't fake genuine caring! He emphasized that we were to call him if we had questions or concerns arise. Best doctors visit we've ever experienced!

He did my knee replacement in 1996 that knee is still doing great no problems. I moved to Boise Idaho in 2005 had to have my other knee done ( here in Boise} in 2015 that knee has always given me trouble. I have been told knee surgery only last about 10 years.

Dr. Helpenstell was caring and thorough. He explained why I was having knee pain and how I could prevent pain in the future. Wait time was nonexistent-I was seen immediately after checking in.
