I felt like he couldn't wait to get me out of his way and leave the office. He's arrogant, isn't personable and seems like he doesn't care to answer questions. He told me one time he's only suggesting stuff to me to 'help close his HEDIS GAPS so it looks like I'm treating you.' I know how this works, he gets bonus checks for the higher percentage of GAPS he closes. I've been with this guy for a few years now and the more time goes on the more I hate how he does his job. I'm moving to a new PCP next time I need medical help.

Terrible personality
This man was beyond rude and literally made me have a pit in my stomach when it was time to see him again. Haughty and obnoxious. If you don’t want to feel like a child getting in trouble, avoid this man like the plague. I finally got a new doc, different treatment plan and I’m going great!

Dr. Hastings has been my dr. for 7 years now. Good guy and a great dr. Takes the time to chat a bit at the beginning of each appt. Clearly explains his recommendations and potential treatments. Open to going a different direction if I have a preference.

Uncaring, doesn’t listen, and his staff is rude. They don’t show any signs that they care about your well being, it seems like they just want you in and out as fast as possible. Very combative atmosphere in their office. I switched PCPs and I could not be happier.

I found Dr. Hastings to be a caring doctor, willing to listen to my concerns. He asked questions, examined me, ordered blood work and arranged for follow up. Although I am normally a patient of Dr. Ganninger, it was evident that Dr. Hastings had read my chart and knew my medical history. He helped relieve my concerns and covered all of the issues I was having. As an added plus, I was able to get an appointment the day I called.

I feel comfortable with Dr. Hastings. He listens to everything I have to say. I feel he is easy to talk to regarding whatever problem I am experiencing. I also think he is very interested in a person's well being, not just in getting the patient in and out the door. He always asks me about my work, and my family as well. I would definitely recommend him to be a person's primary care physician.

Do yourself a favor, and wait the extra time to see Dr. Ganninger (the other doctor at Esse health) instead. I've been going to Dr. Ganninger for years, and he is amazing. I had to get in today, because I have had a severe sore throat for five days. I was shocked at the difference with Dr. Hastings. He couldn't have cared less about what I had to say. He couldn't get out of the room fast enough. I told him I was on the verge of tears, because my throat hurt so badly. He looked for approximately

Do not become a doctor if you do not care about your patients. Dr. Hastings was not interested in my issues and kept acting confused by everything I said. He ignored my major issues that I was seen in the ER. He interrupted me, was condescending and I left there as much in pain as I did as I arrived there. If he could not help me, he had no advice, except to see a psychiatrist, because any woman in pain has to be all in their head even though I had an MRI and referrals from the ER. Worst dr ever

I've never had any bad experiences with Dr. Hastings. His staff is just okay, so a star is deducted for that. He is a little reluctant to provide prescriptions, and I joke for his stock answer of "exercise more and lose some weight" for most issues I bring up, but when I did have a serious digestive problem, he was quick to provide diagnosis, referrals to specialists, and other options. I went to several different specialists, and Dr. Hastings was quick to see me again and provide options.

I stuck with this Dr and practice for about 2 years until I could not take it anymore. I would say the main problem is the support staff. They are very rude and inconsiderate. It seems that Esse attempts to be a 'patient-centered' practice and create a positive experience...but the truth is that they are lazy and not interested in the well-being of their patients. Nothing bothers me more than going to a business and having the employees act like your are annoying them! I will never step foot in

This is the most pompous, self-centered doctor I have ever visited. He did not want to refer me to a specialist and would not send me for an MRI in spite of the fact that the physical therapist recommended it. Once his mind is made up, there is no conversation. Please find someone else.

For the record, due to confidentiality issues the Doctor and his staff can not defend themselves when people leave negative responses. Please make your own opinion. Dr. Hastings and his staff were awesome to work with. He spent over 30 minuets with me and answered every question that I had. Together they helped me feel comfortable with a very scary issue. While I did not leave the office "fixed" I did leave the office feeling supported & working on solutions.
