Dr. Gill has Skill!!
I delayed shoulder surgery for years out of fear and my need to find the right Orthopedist to whom I would entrust my care. I needed to feel comfortable with my surgeon and confident in my choice. From my initial visit, I knew I would be in the best hands with Dr. Gill. He was person first focused, addressing my fears and understanding the outcome I required. My questions were always answered thoroughly and he listened to my concerns. Dr. Gill is attentive, kind, responsive, personable, and the best at his craft. During both of my surgical recoveries he and his team were always there for me. Dr. Gill and his entire team are fabulous!

Relief At Last
After a year of pain, frustration, and no plan of action from my so-called 'care team' at a very major hospital for a torn rotator cuff, I reached out to Dr. Thomas Gill. A month after my initial visit, I had rotator cuff surgery and although it has only been six weeks since, I am surprised at how much mobility I have. I am feeling almost new. Granted the healing process will require a lot of patience, I am confident that I will eventually be back to normal. Just think that I need not have spent a year with a deteriorating condition had I found Dr. Gill sooner. But, I found him. I am very grateful for his expertise, the wonderful staff and for all the resources for the exercise protocols. What can I say, he is my hero. Thank you Dr. Gill.

very mixed experience
Very mixed. I had meniscus surgery, which went fine. But later had worsening knee problems. Saw him twice again and got knee injections. He gave very little information, didn't offer a range of options for treatment. Luckily I decided to seek a second opinion and found another surgeon who took the time to explain in detail what was going on (based on MRI), including various options that Dr Gill didn't mention. I respect Dr Gill for his surgery but would not go back.

Highly Recommend
I had a torn meniscus. Dr. Gill did arthroscopic surgery to remove the tear. He did a fantastic job. I walked with crutches the first day and was able to walk without them by day 2. Fantastic job! When I went for the follow-up exam 2 weeks later, I visited a different office of his...on the way were signed photos of all the people that he operated on including 10+ people from the Patriots including Tom Brady. Brady would only choose the best of the best. If he's good enough for Tom, he's good enough for me :-)

exellent surgeon
He scheduled me for surgery the day after I was seen in his clinic, which was a day or two after my knee injury, a complete patellar tendon rupture. Fine bedside manner and worked well with staff. Easy to schedule a visit with him a few months after for a follow-up. Now six years later, knee is functioning well. Able to cycle, hike and ski. Highly recommend him and staff.

I had a shoulder dislocation with alot of damage. Hill Sachs, anterior labral tear, posterior labral tear and SLAP tear. He performed an anterior and posterior bankart, a SLAP repair, and subacromial decompression. 5 months later and I've got my life back. I'm lifting again, mountain biking again, and everything else I missed so much. Highly recommend.

Dr. Gill is in my opinion the best of the best! I've had several surgeries with him and he is compassionate and highly skilled. All surgeries went perfectly and I was even able to regain full use and range of motion in my arm after a year of incorrect diagnosis and increasing pain and disability in my arm and shoulder. His staff is excellent and it is easy to get an appointment.

Dr. Gill is the best!! Had my ACL replaced -- and it is better than new! He did the surgery himself, and did not delegate to a resident. Caring doctor. If you stick to the rehab you will be fine under Dr. Gill's care.

Had a consult exam for my collarbone. He yanked my arm across my chest, admitted he heard and felt my shoulder partially dislocate...and then he did it 6 more times. A MRI a couple months later showed he CAUSED a hill-sachs deformity. He doesn’t deny doing that, either...he just denies that there’s anything WRONG with repeatedly dislocating someone’s shoulder. St. Elizabeth’s is sweeping it under the rug. As a result my arm has been immobilized for months and no one will touch it. He’s dangerous,

Dr. Gill did an excellent job repairing rotator cuff injuries on both of my shoulders. The right shoulder at age 57 as a result of a skiing injury and left shoulder at age 60 following a sailing injury. What makes him special is his attention to and understanding of each individual’s needs and lifestyles. My shoulders are fabulous, and at age 68 I still am an avid cycler, skier, and sailor. He exercises just as much diligence and attention to the average, aging athlete as to the pros.

worst experience I ever had. I had my left knee scoped by doctor Gill when he was associated with Mass General. I was scheduled for 11:30am surgery. I was placed on a gurney and waited until 5:30pm before I saw anyone. I heard every patient's doctor speak with their patient prior to going into the operating room. I never saw Dr. Gill, only an assistant. He claimed he did the surgery but who knows. Gill was very pompous. The surgery itself was not good. I still have problems . STAY AWAY

Dr. Gill would get positive review from me for fixing my knee when 2 years of seeing other doctors had failed to produce a solution or even diagnosis. But I also found that he treated me with respect and spoke man-to-man with me as an athlete rather than being dismissive and talking down to me like so many others. I also felt like I was getting just as much attention as his pro athlete clients, which is also very rare. Highly recommended!

Dr. Gill is the THE BEST Doctor I've ever had care for me, period. He was able to see a problem within seconds when another "sports medicine Doctor" couldn't see it at all. Needless to say, I am ecstatic with my choice and outcome. I feel special at every visit. I am feeling stronger everyday and expect to have the best ski season in years thanks to his great work. I believe so highly in his abilities that I am now scheduling an appointment for my oldest Son. Not enough stars available.

I could not have a better surgeon. He did extremely complicated surgeries on me with better results than I could've hoped for. It's better than my knee that was never operated on. In addition, he, from moment one, treated me as a human not a case number. His incredible expertise, precision and excellence is parallel to his care for his patients.
