Dropped the Ball!
I helped my husband chose Dr. Buzbee after moving from Dallas based on his GREAT reviews. He misdiagnosed my husband with an enlarged heart in 2023 when in fact he had lung cancer. By the time this Doctor along with his many PA'S figured out what was going on it was too late. My husband died of lung cancer in March 2024. I'm astonished at the good reviews, my husband was passed around from Buzbee to many PA's. We always went to Baylor in Dallas before we moved here. If I make an appointment with a doctor that's who I expect to see. I do not recommend this group. This doctor evidently has too many patients and does not have your best interest at heart and just worried about lining his pockets. He's got 4 or 5 PA's, which is ridiculous. He went to this doctor for several years, a couple times a year. There was no excuse for his cancer to be missed.

In my opinion, there is none better. Dr. Buzbee has a genuine interest in my well-being. He is very thorough, and listens well to my health concerns. It is always a two-way conversation, leading to treatment and/or peace of mind.

Disappointed
Was told he’s the best dr in Tyler and travel an hour to see him. Office is not good at returning phone calls, sending pre authorizations, or referrals. Takes 4-5 months just to see him or you're shoved off to a P.A. or nurse practitioner. Just overall let down and I’ve seeing him for two years now.

Disappointed
We chose Dr. Buzbee as our primary care physician based upon the recommendations from several friends who use him as their doctor. We visited with him once and had the routine blood exams and that was the last time we were able to see him. If we called asking for an appointment, we were always told that he could not see us for six months or more. Instead, it seems he directs his patients to two Physicians Assistants, both of which are not qualified to make diagnoses of medical conditions or prescribe drugs, especially for conditions requiring the use of drugs that affect the heart. The PA my wife saw wanted to put her on statin drugs which she is allergic to and costly drugs that we could not afford. He also told her that she was going to have a heart attack if she did not take the prescribed medicines. We decided it was best to find another primary care physician and we found one that does have a PA working with him and he actually has time to sit down and talk with us.
