Kind and Knowledgeable
I had two arrhythmias for many years. No specialist in our area would perform an ablation because of the complexity of my situation. Dr. Burkart was recommended by my husband's Oncologist as one of the best Electrocardiologists he knew. Dr. Burkart properly diagnosed my condition, and within a few weeks of my initial visit, he performed an ablation on my heart that completely eliminated the arrhythmias. He correctly determined that my SVT was triggering my secondary arrhythmia, so by ablating the SVT, the second would no longer occur. No other Cardiologist came close to understanding this, and no other was willing to perform the ablation, even though I was otherwise very active and healthy. Dr. Burkart gave me back my life, and I will always be grateful for that. He is also one of the kindest people, Dr. or otherwise, that I have had the pleasure to meet. My Father is a M.D., and was very impressed with my experience with Dr. Burkart.

Dr. Thomas Burkart, would not listen to me at all.
Dr. Thomas Burkhart would not listen to me. It was three months before I could see this Dr. when I was having Atrial fibriliation problems. I had been refered to Heart of Dixie Vein & Vascular Clinic at St. George Regional Hosipital. The team there decided he was the Dr. I should see according to the information my Primary Care Physician Clinic sent along with my referral. I went to ask the Dr. about that possible ablation procedure. He argued with me during the visit. When I tried to discuss my situtation and asked bout the ablation, he said, 'Well I can shock you ! ! ! Would you like that' ? He would not discuss anything else with me and insisted that I needed to be on high blood pressure mediciations. When tried to explain that I believe that seeing a new Dr. was causing me to have higher than normal reading. And it was not my normal blood pressure and showed him many pictures of my normal reading he ignored me. He was very rude and inconsiderate.

He is the most knowledgeable interested doctor I have ever had care for me. He listened to my problems. Then he researched my records going back to 2015 so he could know my history. We then talked about options. His bedside manner is kind and caring.

I literally travel to see this doctor, definitely one of the most caring and competent physicians. He is extremely compassionate and knows exactly what he's talking about. Very humble, just a down to earth, gentle human being. I've been a patient of his since 2010. He saved my life.

Dr Burkart is a rock star doc. He told me he would take care of my 18 yr old daughter and cure her of her rapid heart beat, which had prevented her from doing the things she loved to do for years. The ablation procedure was recommended. Dr Burkart told us she would be in good hands, and she would be cured. She was, and she is. Back to doing the things she loved to do.
