Dr. Bournias is an outstanding opthomologist! He is an excellent communicator and made me extremely comfortable going into my recent cataract surgery. He is an outstanding surgeon, and clearly deserving of the awards and accolades he has received. He has my highest recommendation!

Best eye doctor ever!
I have seen many eye doctors over twenty years and Dr. Bournias is absolutely the best ever! He was always very thorough, caring, knowledgeable, and supportive during the years I saw him. I have always wished that I could find someone as good as Dr Bournias after I moved from Chicago. It is very hard to find a good eye doctor!

During my 11/6/2020 visit I waited 60 minutes to see the doctor in the crowded waiting room because they were so backed up. There were so many people in the waiting room we couldn't stay 6 feet apart. The doctor said I had a very common clogged oil gland on my eyelid and he said it's so common he sees about "3 of these a day". To my surprise, the prescription LOTEMAX he gave me COST $265! For eye drops for a "very common" issue. The doctor did give me a Bausch & Lomb coupon which should have been a RED FLAG that the prescription would be expensive and the doctor did not say a word about the outrageous cost and in doing research LOTEMAX is not covered by Medicare and rarely covered by insurance. Doctors get paid for the prescriptions they write and I paid the price! The receptionist Ellen was very nice the other female receptionist was not nice at all. They only give a discount on parking (it's not free). Their weekend answering service never answered any of my calls. AVOID THIS DOCTOR.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Bournias. He was very rushed, cold and not compassionate at all! The the staff is the unnecessarily rudest people I have had the misfortune of encountering. Basically this place is seriously incompetent and if you're ever in an emergency this place is not to be trusted!!

Wrong diagnosis. The doctor missed that the eye duct was blocked, even though I had asked him to check about it. He prescribed too strong eye drops, and as a result my eye pressure went through the roof.

I used Healthgrade to help find an eye doctor who would help me care for my eyes. It was important to have someone who spent time explaining the health of my eyes, along with the recommended prescription. Dr. Bournias and his staff were thorough and helpful throughout the visit.
