Life Saving Surgery
I was admitted to the Englewood hospital emergency room with an extremely serious condition. I was diagnosed with an abdominal aneurysm which had bleak survival rates of 20%. Dr. Bernik performed non-evasive surgery which saved my life. I am forever grateful for his skill and care of this dangerous affliction.

Never explained surgical procedure before operation. Front desk made us wait 25 min and sent us to the wrong floor. Nurse had to insert a venipuncture twice as she didn't get it right the first time. I was made to walk to the operating room and place myself on the operating table. Extreme and I do mean extreme headache after procedure and was given acetaminophen ( really). When Dr. Murry arrived i asked how the procedure went and he wasn't present for the operation. I never saw Dr. Bernik after the operation. I continued to complain about the severe headaches and I asked if it was due to the anesthesia and was never given a answer. Couldn't swallow correctly and had a hard time taking any pills. Was sent home the next day and still had trouble swallowing and called Dr. Berniks office at 1:15 am, explaining the problem, I was having and dr. Murry didn't return my call till after 5 am. He said if I come to the emergency that there was little they could do! WHAT!!!

AAA Repair: Type 1 Endoleak of Aortic Graft
At my age of 83, Dr Bernik did an aneurysm repair of the Type 1 endoleak of my aortic graft which is the only alternative left to correct my problem. I am very proud to say that he is an excellent doctor who closely monitored my progress during and after my two surgeries and am very pleased with his concerns and dedication to me as his patient. He had been vigilant of any incidental health isues that came along during my post op recovery and this made me feel comfortable and very happy that I had the chance to be under his care.

Little to non-existent bedside manners!
We were very disappointed during our visit with both Dr. Bernik and his staff (front desk, nurses, radiology tech).. they all lacked proper bedside manners and were extremely rude. We would never return to this practice again. Being a good doctor is showing some compassion, otherwise you are in the wrong profession.

Worst bedside manners I have ever experienced!
I was referred to Dr. Bernik by Dr. Rosen, podiatrist and the entire experience was a nightmare. To start, his entire staff from the front desk to his nurses and x-Ray technician are all rude and arrogant. They all act like they do not want to be there and made me feel as if I was a bother. They would do well to remember that they are getting paid to do a job and showing some empathy could not hurt. His two clinic nurses, Courtney and I forget are pushy and have a very know-it-all condescending tone in which they talk down to you when you ask regular questions. And Dr. Bernik himself behaves as if he is doing you a favor by even being in the same room as you. While he may be a skilled surgeon, I will never return to see him and will never recommend him for his horrid bedside manners and the way in which he spoke to me. Also, he refused to call me back when I had an important question. He sent another to do the dirty work. If I could give him a ZERO, I would.

WORST BEDSIDE MANNERS EVER!!
Horrible doctor, horrible staff, pushy know it all nurses who work with him and radiology was no better. Dr. Bernik is very condescending and arrogant. The wait times and office staff is rude and clearly hate their jobs. I will let everyone know of my experience. He is in the wrong profession and has the absolute worst bedside manners I have ever encountered! If I could give him and his staff 0 stars, I would.

The best of the best
From the moment you walk into the office to meet the receptionist you have a great feeling about the office Dr. Bernik makes you feel comfortable explains everything to you. I had two surgeries done on my legs. Before the surgeries I had tremendous pain in both my legs. Now I can walk forever with no pain at all. Thank you again Dr Bernik,Grace and the whole staff .

Dr. Bernick saved me twice. The first time he stented arteries of my legs, and I was able to walk without aids. The second time happened when I got SVC syndrome. Every doctor I talked to told me that nothing could be done – the clot is old, it is impossible to remove it, or get through it. Quality of my life was horrible, I could barely move. I was absolutely miserable and did not have any hope. Doctor Bernick organized and performed a unique operation, which for my understanding has never been done before. The procedure took many hours, it was finished at 2am. Early hours on the next morning Dr. Bernick was back to check how I am doing. My recovery took a long time, and he always was there for me. And now I am a happy active person I was before the disease! I admire his professionalism, responsibility and creativeness. He really cares. And his team is absolutely amazing! I am eternally grateful to Dr. Bernick.

I looked everywhere and I found the best! Dr Bernik performed a carotid endarterectomy on me. His expertise and professionlism surpasses any Dr that I have ever met. Dr Bernik’s excellent team and staff are amazing and are very attentive to your needs. The procedure and recovery was as smooth as can be. I am healing nicely at home and will follow up with him in 2 weeks. Highly recommend!! Tony S NJ
