Surgeon erroneously dismissed surgery.
His staff cancelled my appointments inferring I am responsible. I am a disabled senior victim through no fault of my own. I’ve been a patient of his associate for ten years. The surgeon was wrongly informed by staff who said I kept cancelling. I pleaded with a member of his staff to put me back on the schedule because cataract surgery is needed asap. Putting my eyesight at risk is inexcusable. FIRST DO NO HARM is not what the surgeon believes in.

Great ophthalmologist
I have been a patient of Dr Beggins for over 30 years. He is very knowledgeable about issues with the eye (including my stroke in my eye -BRVO), he has more years of experience than most opthamologists, is very professional, compassionate, a great listener and takes the time to explain an eye condition in detail (along with recommendations).

I had an appointment with Dr.Beggins in Essex in mid October. He was not there for my appointment. He wasted my time-not a phone call to cancel.I was told I would have to make four trips to Middletown. I found a great doctor in my own area who did a wonderful job and has been on time for all my cataract follow-up appointments. I would not suggest going to this doctor.

Dr. Beggins and his staff were all nice; however, when I purchased my new glasses from the associated eyeglass store, I was unable to wear them due to my system being intolerant of polycarbonate and that's what the lens are made of. Some people experience a distorted affect with this type of lens. Even after interactions with the Dr. and the people at the store and explaining it all, I lost the $600. I paid out of my pocket as the glasses are of no use to me and I was unable to get a refund.
