Stay Away
Just awful..so done with this practice . Bartzokis is 'mailing it in until he retires'. He should go now. The office is one big hit mess.If they answer ( which phone often rings a strange busy sound) You are not permitted as a patient to make an appointment with the DR. You need to leave a message with the medical assistant about your issue and hope and pray someone listens to the message. I then get a call back changing a med that was not the issue... My blood pressure must be sky high just trying to get an apt.. I had to beg for it...done done stay away ...

Old fashioned- Out of touch with modern medicine
Very old fashioned Dr that seems out of touch with modern medicine. I did a cardiac CT, and had a high calcium score. The standard of Care after the ISCHEMA study is to treat the condition medically. But instead he wanted to go the old fashion route of a stress test then catherization.

First off, it takes multiply calls waiting 10-15 minutes to even get to speak with someone. Secondly, once you do get into see a doctor, they call you to tell you what's going on, you don't actually speak with a doctor and only get some of the information. But the reason I leave this review. They tell me I Have to wear a heart monitor (BioTel), so they send it to my house and I wear it for 20 days. Weeks after retuning it I get a bill for $9,000... The insurance covers most of it and my portion is $500, but NOT ONCE did the doctor or Anyone in the office say anything about this costing me additional fee's, that it was coming from another company. So be careful, id suggest finding another doc like I did. I called to ask why I got this bill and never got any kind of call back

Although Dr. Bartzokis is an excellent doctor, there is an air of hostility in just about everyone who works there. They do their jobs without a smile and without a kind word and with short unfriendly answers. Also, there is no effort or understanding of the need to coordinate appointments for an elderly patient requiring doctor's visit, pacemaker check and electrocardiogram. This is the price you need to pay for decent medical specialty care in Florida unfortunately and certainly is the case in Dr. Bartzokis's office.

Although Dr. Bartzokis may be a fine cardiologist, he diagnosed me with afib that, according to two other cardiologists and extensive testing, I DO NOT HAVE. Furthermore, Dr. Bartzokis would not return a phone call and I was told by his medical assistant to go on blood thinners and that he is too busy to speak with patients. REALLY?? The staff is amongst the rudest I have ever encountered anywhere. My internist concurs, and told me that the staff and office are a disaster. This attitude has to come from the top, and after speaking to the office manager, David, I can guarantee that is true. I received a copay bill for $15 that was accidentally overlooked (I generally pay at the time of a visit), circled in red with a handwritten note that said “SHAME ON YOU”! SHAME ON YOU!!! NEED I SAY MORE??

Dr. Bartzokis was my mother's primary surgeon when she recently required surgery to correct problems with her heart. Given her advanced age, she needed a surgeon with advanced experience. Dr. Bartzokis is such a surgeon. She is now getting back to her routine and doing well. The night before my mother's surgery, I prayed very hard for her to be well. My prayers were answered thanks to Dr. Bartzokis. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Bartzokis.
