I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, went for a d and c procedure. The only compassion she showed through the whole thing was rubbing my leg as I was put under. I was told no follow up care was necessary, but got a call a week later from a resident stating I needed weekly blood work and a follow up appt. I got a uterine infection and had to undergo a 2nd d and c procedure. I have also had 2 brain surgeries and have never cried before either of them, but I cried before the second procedure. She not only is incompetent, her bedside manner is poor.

Dismissed and Incomplete Well Womens
I was assigned to Dr. Madden through the office, it was my first visit with her. I felt incredibly dismissed and rushed through. I don’t agree with some of the wording of my after visit summary, she made a lot of assumptions that and I regret not being more vocal in the room but her demeanor made it discouraging to bring anything up since she was being dismissive. I went in for my well womens, she did not announce when she was going in for the Pap smear and she did not perform the breast exam; and I know she noticed my larger breasts because I kept noticing her eyes shift lower during our talks

Excellent Physician
Dr. Madden has been my gynecologist for years. She is the best. Dr. Madden correctly diagnosed and treated a concern that previous doctors had failed to properly diagnose. She listens and addresses all of my concerns. She has a great bedside manner. I just can't say enough good things about her. I highly recommend her.

Excellent Doctor
Dr. Madden is excellent! Listened to concerns, answered all of my questions, and proactively looked for causes that several other Doctors did not bother to do. I am very happy to have found her as my new OBGYN.

Went to Dr. Madden for severe PMDD which she is supposed to specialize in. After suffering for additional 5 months waiting for an appt. not only did she have no recommendations beyond going back on the pill which I’ve tried for years, I had a major concern that she totally brushed off in a rude and dismissive manner I’ve come to expect from male providers but was shocked to hear coming from a female ob/gyn who allegedly specializes in emotional issues. I wanted to run out of the office crying but as she continued responding to my questions and concerns with an uncaring and rude attitude I just wanted to get away from and go back to my regular non-specialist gyn who is kind, compassionate and extremely empathetic. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. HOLLY KODNER @ BALANCED CARE FOR WOMEN OF ST. LOUIS!!

Dr. Madden explains everything very thoroughly. She gets a detailed history- including familial history and really cares about her patients. She is very smart and a great listener. Amazing bed side manner.
