Dr. Teshamae Monteith, MD

If she wasn’t one of the only neurologists in south Florida who treats migraines with neuro-toxin then I would definitively go elsewhere. Her staff is nice, but she is horrible! She makes you feel terrible, explains information poorly, hardly lets you speak, and when you do she appears bored and cuts you off because she thinks she knows better. She treats her patients like a checklist that she needs to finish with as fast as possible. She speaks directly to the interns in the room (and by the way there are always too many of them) rather than speaking to the patients. She recalls and reads personal information about the patients incorrectly and shares it with the interns in the room and god forbid you interrupted and correct her about YOUR personal information!!! I cried during my appointment and she thought I was crying due to the pain I was in. I was in fact crying because of how uncaring, and mean, she was and how much she belittled me.

I don’t understand the bad reviews, she is literally my favorite Dr and I’ve seen so many! She knows what she’s talking about and gets right to the point which I love. She’s wonderful!

Extremely disappointed with Dr. Monteith. Not only did her lack any willingness to provide the best treatment options, but her bedside manner was abysmal. Instead of addressing my concerns directly, she seemed more interested in referring me to a nurse practitioner. It’s disheartening when a doctor prioritizes passing off patients rather than providing proper care. Avoid at all costs.

This doctor does not listen to her patients. She is not interested in why your condition began or in offering alternative treatments other than pills. If you want some closure she will not help you find it. She will diagnose you without any tests. She does not care to probe further than her diagnosis as she is always right. She also is clueless about how debilitating migraines can be. It takes more than knowledge to be a good doctor.

Total visit time 3 hours and total MD time face to face time 5 min, forced to see multiple intake personnel and trainees despite declining.. was told that is how the practice is run..no answers to patient questions following the visit

Has postponed appointments on several occasions and when she does either she or her staff forget to renew prescriptions even I asked several times to do so

Doesn’t listen, often repeats incorrect information you just told her. No empathy and no answers.

Excelente dr, I look for a neurologist for years and went I found dr Monteith, my life change again. With her treatments I can function again. I love dr Monteith .

Been a patient of Dr. Monteith for many years for chronic migraines. Very clinical and lacks empathy at times for how painful and debilitating migraines can be. Does not seem to care about her patients privacy, as she often has other people in her office during clinic hours and does not always tell you who they are or why they are there while you are discussing your private medical history with the doctor.

A very nice lady, but doesn't seem to listen.
