Dr. Teresa Tan, MD

Dr. Tan delivered both of my children. My first delivery was very complicated and I ended up hemorrhaging really bad, she caught it right away and saved my life! Best OB you could ask for!

14 years ago I went to Dr. Tan to get birth control. I had multiple miscarriages, and had been told by other doctors that there would be a sim chance I could have children. When I explained this, she asked what the diagnosis had been as to why that was the case. I shrugged and said I didn’t know.She then asked if I would want children, and I responded in the affirmative. She arranged for bloodwork, genetic testing, and for me to see a uterine specialist.It is only due to her that I have 5 beautiful children, and she has been with me every step of the way. She’s been honest, supportive, and willing to listen when I had concerns. She is a part of my family, though not related, she’s stuck with me.

Review for Dr. Teresa Tan: A Disheartening Experience My recent visit with Dr. Teresa Tan was deeply disappointing and left me feeling unheard and mistreated. As someone who suffers from severe anxiety, I made it a point to express my concerns both before and during the appointment, hoping for a bit of understanding and empathy. Unfortunately, Dr. Tan’s bedside manner was far from what I expected or needed. From the outset, Dr. Tan seemed impatient, as if my anxiety was an inconvenience rather than a legitimate concern. Her dismissive attitude made me feel uncomfortable and even more anxious, which only exacerbated my stress levels during the appointment. Instead of offering reassurance, she came across as cold and indifferent, showing little to no empathy for my situation. The most troubling part of the visit was after a particularly painful procedure. Despite informing Dr. Tan of my neurological disability and the heightened pain I was experiencing, she refused to prescribe any medication for relief. Her rationale was that she doesn’t typically do this for “typical patients,” despite my clear indication that my condition was anything but typical. This lack of consideration for my individual circumstances left me feeling neglected and in pain. I left her office in tears, overwhelmed by the entire experience. It’s disheartening that a medical professional, whom I had trusted to care for my health, could be so dismissive and unsympathetic. I would not recommend Dr. Teresa Tan to anyone, especially those who may require a more compassionate and understanding approach to their care.

Dr. Tan is knowledgeable. However, her bedside manner leaves something to be desired. She provides information much like a pharmaceutical commercial. She will clearly explain a diagnosis, but then go into all of the things that could go wrong without giving any time to process. Then she will offer a "supportive" hand on the shoulder and be on her way. Healthcare in general, but especially reproductive health. She comes off as slightly rigid. I have left her twice now feeling more conflicted about my healthcare than when I went in to the office.

Dr. Tan is a very caring and kind doctor that cares about her patients’ well-being and health.

Dr. Tan is genuine and listens to what you have to say. She makes you feel very comfortable.

I was coming in for some birth control and she was super professional yet so relaxed about the whole thing. I was feeling self conscious about my reasons for wanting birth control but she quickly told me that their was nothing selfish about it. I really loved her manners and would 100% see her again!

Due to coronavirus, my postpartum follow-up was a virtual visit with Dr Tan. She was easy to talk to and knowledgeable. She and her staff made me feel like they were there for me.

Dr. Tan is very knowledgeable, thorough, and took the time to answer my many questions concerning my pregnancy. She is also very friendly and easy to talk to! I feel my baby and I are in good hands with her and the midwives with TPMG OB/GYN. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an OB!
