Dr. Tarek Persaud, MD

Due to diabetes, I was in ICU in DKA, which in turn we discovered my eyes were in danger. I was referred to Dr. Persaud, he got me in immediately, office staff was amazing (in guntersville), he sat with me and explained everything in detail, he gave me peace and comfort during scary situations. I now have to have injections in my eyes, it is painless and he keeps me calm.

Dr. Persaud is extremely knowledgeable and personable. After a thorough eye exam, Dr. Persaud gave me a full explanation of a tear I had in my retina and then performed laser surgery to correct the issue. The very personable staff at the clinic were an added bonus to the whole experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Persaud.

Dr Persaud does a perfect job of explaining exactly what is happening with my medical situation, new symptoms to be aware of and resolution path if necessary. I have a posterior vitreous detachment, common w age; he perfectly explained how it occurs and the steps we are taking over the next 4 weeks. He’s also very personable and caring. Highly recommended him for any eye conditions that require a medical doctor

After two office visits which took in excess of 4 hours I only saw the Dr for 12 minutes. That is to say about six minutes per visit. If your appointment time is at 10 AM, do not expect to be seen by Dr. Persaud until 11:20 AM minimum. In the Huntsville office the staff do not introduce themselves or explain what service they will perform for you. In the Madison office the staff are quite good about identifying themselves and kindly explaining what they were doing to you as a patient. The Huntsville office, meaning the space is old, disorganized and ill kept. The Madison office is newer, clean and much less disorderly. However, the wait time is just as long at each location. I did some analysis while I was waiting and of the five patients I spoke with, all waiting 1.5 hours or more they had appointments within 10 minutes of each other. Expect more from your care providers, demand better. They schedule appointments too closely together and you as the consumer pay the price!

Dr. Persaud was very helpful, knowledgeable, and interested in my condition. I felt at ease immediately with him, he spent time with me and answered all my questions. He was very encouraging to me when I had concerns about my eye. I would highly recommend Dr. Persaud to anyone!

This doctor lacks basic social skills such as courtesy, politeness, and respect. He was arrogant, disrespectful, and rude. No need for this kind of behavior.

My mom..Mamie Gowen.. has been under the excellent care of Dr. Persaud for years due to her macular degenerative issues. .He is very professional, knowledgeable, caring, and patient to spend time answering questions and giving helpful advice on our level!..His staff is wonderful as well. .we can't say enough about how "blessed" we feel to be under his care! !..Cheryl Sullivan..daughter and caregiver
