Very cold and condescending
This doctor- from the very beginning of our appointment- appeared uninterested, condescending, detached, and unsympathetic. It was a very sad and sobering appointment with a medical professional. My advice to any parent reading this looking for help with their children is to avoid this “doctor” at all costs.

Rude, condescending, and dismissive
Was extremely disappointed in this practitioner. From the minute we met her she was cold and dismissive. She completely put down our primary care Dr. and was condescending to me and my teenage son. Thank goodness she said she didn’t know why we even came to her. We would never ever go back. In all my years, I have never felt so disrespected by a Dr. I was thankful I was there for my son. Unfortunately we saw young children go into the offices alone. I can’t imagine how they are treated.

Much to be desired
This particular Doctor seems to lack empathy and compassion. She is argumentative with the patient about trivial things, which speaks to lack of emotional intelligence. Very dismissive. Went to see her to aid my son with ASD. We were met with chuckles and sarcastic “good lucks” with ABA therapy and no additional resources or therapies. Fun fact there are published studies supporting CBT for high functioning ASD. I’ve never witnessed a Doctor argue trivial things, ex. My son stated that Vatican City is a county(fun fact it is). She spent 5 min arguing and correcting my son, telling him he was incorrect. Engaging in such ridiculous arguments with a 9 year old is distasteful. She will also refuse to fill out unpaid FMLA paper work so you can be a parent and be there for your child who is having increased meltdowns, to which she acknowledge made sense due to influx of hormones. Definitely not for patient.

Invalidating, rude and out of touch
Instantly felt distant and out of touch with our circumstances which are abnormal. She did exactly what everyone else here has mentioned, completely invalidated anyone else's diagnosis except hers. Instantly wanted to change the child from antipsychotics to ADHD meds without a proper diagnosis. Bluntly told me to my face that there is no possible way ALL of his testings (done by other licensed professionals) we're correct, based off the 5 mins we were in the office. She completely invalidated any of his previous violent actions at schools and home (he has been diagnosed odd, dmdd). When I tried explaining his close genetic connection with schizophrenia, bipolar and she said that's impossible to say. She tried pushing ADHD meds so hard it felt like a commercial for the company. She creates an untrustworthy environment which is not safe for anyone especially low income families who literally have no one on their side. The entire lake view center should be shut down.

Dr. T is truly a good doctor. She works for Lakeview which is a facility that works with medicaid and low income families. For that reason their entire staff is overworked and understaffed (similar to a Public Defenders office). However, after a few sessions with her she begins to seem less intimidating, or as others have said"rude". She remembers her patients and the details pertaing to their medical needs. She cares about her patients and seems to me that the Lakeview system in general is just overloaded due to their facilties being the only ones that are at all affordable to low income families in the area. I trust Dr. T with my medical needs and will continue to see her!

While speaking with her she came off kind of rude and condescending. Any symptom that didn’t align with anxiety/depression was disregarded. I told her that SSRI’s hadn’t worked for me in the past and she prescribed me another SSRI anyways.

My husband and i are working on pulling our daughter out of Lakeview because of this doctor. After weighing her and observing her for no more than 5 minutes Dr. T detirmined my daughter was doing so well on her new meds. If my husband or I bring up anything other than adhd she smacks that possibility straight down. I have heard too many "not possible" responses in my questions to her i dont trust her "professional" judgement anymore. I am usually waiting over an hour past my appointment.

I really hate to leave a bad review about a medical professional but we went to Dr. Theriault for help in diagnosing and or searching for answers and help with my young son. She pushed meds as the only option after diagnosing him with ADHD (after watching him for mere minutes). Her behavior was rude and condescending. She has zero empathy and her method of diagnosing was highly unprofessional.
