This didn’t share my lab results with me and ignored serious results that would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering. She should find a new profession. She cannot be trusted with your health.

Avoid at all costs
I was rushed in and out of the office on my first visit as a new patient. Dr. Tan did not ask me questions about my family history or about my diet and exercise habits. I was not given the opportunity to ask questions about my health. Had she asked any of those basic questions she wouldn't have shamed me upon receiving lab results that are tied to hereditary conditions. Instead she made accusations and assumptions. I got a second opinion, which validated she was wrong. She also forces to you make televisit appointments every three months to get basic prescriptions refilled even if they're safe and you've been on them for three decades. The whole experience was careless, rude, and rushed. There are plenty of other doctors in the D.C. area. Go see them.

Do not recommend
I went in to discuss an issue and request an outside referral. Despite being polite, She referred me to the WRONG specialist and did not listen to what I was saying, insisting that I fix issues that I already explained that so fixed. I do not recommend her if you are looking for someone who listens. Most concerning, I asked her to conduct some basic tests and she did NOT know how to do them. I do not think she is fit to practice medicine because patients count on their doctors to know basic exams and tests for their conditions.

Dr. Tan is not competent to practice medicine. She was perfectly pleasant to me, but if you need a basic workup from someone who knows what cancer screenings and reference ranges are, you would be better off consulting a child with a toy stethoscope. I didn't believe the other reviews. I should have. She's that bad.

It was a HORRIBLE experience. Tanya Tan at Comprehensive Primary Care is the most apathetic and unkind person in the medical profession. She raised her voice throughout the consultation. Also, when I asked a question about a prescribed medication that her office prescribed, she told me that it was up to me to continue to take it. Needless to say we got into it when I told her I had contacted that office to speak to a doctor for MEDICAL ADVISE. It was then when she started answering my specific questions and wouldn't give me any additional medical advise other than my series of questions. She also told me that I may never get better....what? I have never experienced such unkindness from a medical consultation. There was a reason why she was the only "doctor" available the same day. If you are looking for a DOCTOR do not ask for Tanya Tan, she should not be a doctor! The physician assistants are preferable. I would give a minus-zero star but that's not an option.

I saw her at Comprehensive Primary Care because my regular doctor had a wait. I should have waited for my other doctor. Dr. Tan did not listen to my problems and was unsupportive in me asking questions about my health. I left feeling miserable. She must've skipped class the day they taught bedside manners.
