Good Experience
Dr. Otrok was very friendly in explaining the procedure and did my last one 5 years earlier. Came in shortly after the procedure and gave a thorough explanation of procedure and findings. He was wonderful and had a great bedside manner.

The best
Dr. Otrok is the best. He is very caring , nice and understanding. I had an upper gi scope done yesterday and he is sooo good and compassionate. I told my wife on the way to get it done that he is so great and truly cares.

Otrok’s demeanor is not compassionate, but cold. He bluntly, in a matter of fact way, told my wife I had cancer without any compassion. She almost passed out, while she was standing. He had no consideration that she may need to sit for this news. He told us this news behind the privacy of a curtain, where other patients could hear the conversation. No consideration for our privacy or the reaction of others to the news.

I would give Dr. Otrok a higher rating but I had a negative experience. I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis. Dr. Otrok wanted to put me on a biologic which is extremely invasive...it requires a lengthy infusion every 8 weeks via an IV FOR LIFE. I am a triathlete & otherwise very healthy. Of course something so invasive, expensive (to our healthcare system as I am lucky enough to have good insurance), and loaded with a ton of side effects (some quite serious - including death), I wanted to try and incorporate a functional/holistic HCP who looks at the whole picture to attempt to treat the cause not just the symptoms. Dr. Otrok said "I will not sit by and watch you take her poison so I can no longer see you". What what what? Um wow...her prescription alternatives are supplements and do not have anything near as scary listed as what Dr. Otrok prescribed. So there you go...he fired me because I wanted to pursue other non-pharma alternatives. He also claims food doesn't matter. Yikes!

Dr. Otrok is everything I look for in a doctor: Friendly but concise. Knowledgeable yet willing to admit when he needs to look up the most recent information on a particular issue. Obviously not trying to generate more business with needless procedures. Truly conveys a sense that his goal is my health.
