Dr. Sylvia Gisi, MD

I have been patient of Dr Gisi for about 10 yrs. Dr Gisi is a really good doctor which is why I have tolerated the shabby way her practice is run up until now. I can’t take the continuous msgs I leave without a callback from staff. No one ever answers the phone when I call the office. And prescription refill requests are frustrating resulting in my making numerous calls between pharmacy and Gisi’s office before refill is finally done. And the patient portal is a complete joke. I am changing to another PCP as I write this.

I switched to Dr. Gisi as PCP about a year ago. She is always kind, knowledgeable, and thorough, but her staff has been disappointing! They’ve failed to send referrals over so I wasted trips to specialists or labs multiple times. Most recently Dr. Gisi prescribed meds and the nurse has sent it to pharmacy wrong. Both pharmacy and myself have called over a dozen times to fix and I’m stillllllllll waiting for the issue to be resolved. Left messages multiple times and no call back! So frustrating!

Dr Gisi was very personable and kind during my office visit. However, I concur strongly with previous comments about office staff! They are the reason I will not return- I came with excruciating sciatica pain- the 2 intake gals (MAs) they persisted to get to me lay down on exam table for EKG - (it wasnt reading properIy) could barely walk/sit/lay flat for DAYS… they got irritated w me. I came for sciatica not heart monitoring- THEY STILL CHARGED ME FOR FAILED EKG!!!! It was a horrible experience. I ended up seeing an Acupuncturist.

Anitta and Vivianna were both very rude and not understanding of me representing my 21 month old daughter’s care. I too am a healthcare worker and have to treat my patients as a front desk clerk as well as a Medical Assistant with the most patience and best customer service possible and these two were absolutely terrible. They spoke over me, cut off my sentences and didn’t confirm my daughter’s upcoming appointments because of how annoyed they were with my complaints, questions, and confusion of how I took off work, drove over an hour to pick up my daughter from her babysitter then started getting her ready so she can be vaccinated and checked by Dr. Gisi. Vivianna has absolutely no customer service patience nor patient understanding and literally hung up without letting me know whether or not my daughter will be receiving care or for what date and time. I called back and had the Office Manager Anitta get defensive and flip the story telling me I’m in the wrong and didn’t let me finish

Dr Gisi is a very good doctor and I have no complaint about her Her staff however, are extremely rude and inconsiderate. I could almost say verbally abusive. For this reason I have had to find a new doctor as I will no longer put up with their unprofessional behavior.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Gisi for many years & I’ve always felt like she took her time with me. She’s always listened to whatever is ailing me & took care if me. I love her!!

I am truly surprised by the negative reviews, i have nothing but positive things to say about Dr.Gisi. She is a great doctor who listens and really wants to find the specs of the issues rather than just push prescriptions on you like most doctors. And her nurse is great too. Best doctor i have ever had, highly recommended.

Patients are not her top priority. She's taken on more patients than she can treat effectively. You wait forever to get an appointment, wait forever (waiting room and back office) when you show up for that appointment. You feel rushed when she actually comes in to see you. She doesn't listen or take the time to hear all your concerns. Office manager has no idea what she's doing!! Referrals take too long or doesn't get submitted all. Staff is rude, doesn't even greet you on arrival.

Mixed my daughters and my records notes up, waits to long to read results and reports, plus her staff is very inconsiderate and rude! She has her MAs/LVN give out results of tests, often over the phone! Sometimes they don't even know what it is. It's like they are reading notes in a book. The MAs can't even properly take a blood pressure correctly. Only the LVN there can. Referrals take way to long and they blame the insurance companies for their mistakes! Doesn't really listen to you!!

Left me waiting in the waiting room for an hour. Then forgot about me and went to lunch. On the second visit I was left in the examine room for 45minutes waiting to be seen. On the fourth visit her PA left me in the examine room for 48 minutes with a baby. I finally walked out. I have been waiting five months for the results to my tests but she will not give them to me since I walked out. I don't think Dr. Gisi is the problem but her office manager.

I used to love Dr. Gisi but now she has too many patients for her to handle at this point! She takes way too long to get back to you with serious results and never does it in person! She has her back office personnel (not well educated) do it for her after she has review the results, but that means you as a patient, you do not have any say in your treatment plan. She is just too busy to be a great doctor! I used to love going to see her but now that I'm sick, she isn't there for me.
