Dr. Syed Akhter, MD

Dr Akhter has been our pediatrician for 15 years. He is so attentive to the patient. He is very personable. He is knowledgable and share advice in laymans terms. he is patient. We love him!!!

All of my 4 kids have been seeing Dr Akhtar since birth. He is always very kind and attentive. But the most important thing for us is that he is a great pediatrician. Many times we went through severe medical complications and had to consulate with different pediatricians at the Children's Hospital but all of them came to the same conclusion after many medical tests which Dr Akhtar already told us without any tests. Overall, he is an excellent, very experienced pediatrician. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Our family loves Dr. Akhter! He has been my children’s doctor since birth, he always cares and listens to them. He is the best Dr. for children in Knoxville in my opinion, I feel blessed and lucky to have Dr. Akhter take such quality care of my little ones. I only wish he were my MD, as well. The staff is so awesome too, always friendly and efficient and always helpful and happy.

He was the doctor at the hospital when my son was born, and was horrible. We were having difficulties breastfeeding, and as I had just finished breastfeeding my oldest child 5 months prior to giving birth to his brother, I knew something had to be going on. I specifically asked Dr. Akhter if my son might be tongue tied, and he said no, absolutely not. Our own dr confirmed that he was, both top and bottom. Thank goodness I didn't heed this dr's assessment. Horrible, horrible doctor.

I have never left a bad review in my life, but Dr. Syed Akhter prompted me. He was the referred pediatrician of the hospital I gave birth at, and had to meet with us before we could be discharged. He stopped by for maybe 30 seconds and didn't even look at my newborn. Granite he did perform tests on her in the nursery, but I expected more then a hi bye. We had to go see him a few days after giving birth, and the experience was less then one star. He acted as if he had somewhere else to be the ent

We have been taking both of our children to Dr. Akhter since they were babies. My daughter, who is now 12, has been through some serious health issues resulting in a rare diagnosis. I don't know where we would be if it weren't for all of Dr. Akhter's expertise and care.

Dr. Akhter has been wonderful with both our kids and their doctor for basically their entire lives. We would recommend him highly

Dr. Akhter is a great pediatrician! My granddaughters have been seeing him for at least 5 yrs now, they love him and his staff. All are very friendly and knowledgeable. I drive an hour each way to take them to him, that's how much confidence I have in him. I have one who is special needs and she loves him too, he's really great with her. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Stay away! Does not really care about you and your baby. You have to figure out everything yourself.

Dr. Akhter has always answered our questions and listened to what we have to say. His bedside manner is great and my son (12 yrs old) really likes him and his personality. Staff is great as well. I have no complaints and am glad I chose this pediatric office.
