Novant needs to hire better Doctors!
Dr. Syed Ahmed left my family member knowing what ageism is! in worse condition than before, he added anxiety, stress, and fear of asking for medical help! Telling a senior citizen that if they had cancer at their age, he wouldn't even treat it because it wouldn't be what would ill them! The only treatment you get from this doctor is not having your medical condition 'Treated' older people have occupied there bodies for a very long time, a Doctor should rely on the patient to help determine how to help them, not let them suffer, or add to any suffering! (FIRST DO NO HARM). What happened to the part of the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take that state to be non-judgmental, improve healthcare, and respect the patient? If he cannot follow these parts of the oath that he took, should he even be practicing medicine? Other reviews emphasize their negative experiences, please take into mind everything you read: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Everyone should have proper care.

I was not comfortable with how Dr. Ahmed treated me and I feel as though he is very unprofessional. After my 1st vist, I was informed by a MyChart message from him that I have Grave Disease. It upset me that I was told this info over a simple message! When I asked for him to call me so that I could speak with him, he did call; however, it was a terrible experience. He lacked any kind of empathy. During our call, I informed him that I prefer phone calls or office visit over a MyChart message, but he stated that that is the way he interacts with his patients. He acted like he was more or less wasting time on the call with me. It was obvious that he felt he had better things to do. I'm sure that Carl Armato (CEO, NH) wouldn't have been treated with such disrespect. You would think with a disease such as Graves (that already makes you feel awful), that he could have shown some compassion. Unfortunately not!

2 1/2 mos ago during my first visit with Dr Ahmed he ordered lab tests, testing that took 48 hours at home. It took over 2 weeks to get the lab orders becuase to save a nickel they sort their own mail elsewhere. The lab then messed up the results (that I had to pay for), then the nurse forgot to order them again, so a month went by, then the 2nd round of tests needed another result that wasn't indicated in initial order so a 3rd round of inconvenient tests were ordered. The nurse is incompetent, not really a result of the Drs' skill, but it's HIS nurse. So I fired the Dr. It really drove home why North Carolina is last in the nation in healthcare, very poor support staff makes for a very bad Dr. Here I am over 2 mos from initial appt for a serious disease and no treatment. It's a bad reflection of the clinic as a whole. And found out they save 5 cents for every lab result sent in snail mail, they don't use email.....it's a wonder.

I've been a patient with Dr. Ahemed for about 2 yrs, he's alway been professional, compassionate, and easy to talk too, I would say his "bedside" manner is top notch. As a matter of fact I had an appointment with him yesterday and it went very well. I would definitely refer him to my family & friends...Keep Up The Good Work Dr. Ahmed!

Each of my interactions with Dr. Ahmed has been very positive! He has been professional and thorough in his examinations, detailed in his explanations and patient when answering my questions about my plan of care. I have never felt rushed in his presence. He has been warm and sensitive to my concerns every time that I have visited him. He has been prompt in getting back to my Novant chart questions/ messages. I highly recommend him.

If I could give no stars I would. Every time I have seen Dr. Ahmed he has been rude, argumentative, and extremely condescending. He has given no resolution to any issues and treats me as if I am wasting his time. At the end of the most recent appointment he cut me off mid-sentence, handed me a piece of paper, and gave me directions to the check-out desk. He is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend him to anyone for anything.
