She is a nice young woman who has excellent assistants and staff. She is licensed and board certified. She made several mistakes that someone in residency would not make and showed inexperience and stubbornness. I would not trust her at this time. She may be a wonderful doctor at some point in the future.

I found Dr P to be personable, knowledgeable and caring. She not only took adequate time to discuss the purpose of my visit but also to know a little bit more about me. Definitely a plus to my medical personnel file.

Dr. Ponnathota provided conventional Western medical care. I have switched to another provider more attuned to nutritional and other approaches.
My biggest complaint is the horrible billing and customer service. A blood test I had drawn before my 2017 annual physical was miscoded and I have spent much time, aggravated, trying to get this corrected, to date unsuccessfully, meanwhile I get threatening letters from St. Luke's Hospital to pay what my insurance would pay if properly coded.

She looked at her computer and was talking about my age and getting a colonoscopy which I had done the year before. She didn't really talk about the issue of why I was there. She did not exam me. All she did in the 3 minutes she spent with me was insult me and give me an expensive medicine that I could buy over the counter. I won't be going back to this doctor.
Do NOT see this doctor!

Dr Ponnathota could have been much more kind and understanding. She basically fat shamed me, I won't go in to the details, but she was heartless. Then she told me how she just doesn't have time to do the things she directed me to do.? She listened to my heart and lungs over thick seams in my clothing with hardly touching the stethoscope to me. She seems disinterested in primary care and overall very lazy.

Not happy at all! She just look at the computer screen and talked about - you need this test, to see this doctor, etc. as if I was to be outsourcer. Was not empathetic at all about anything. She treated me as if I have a contagious disease. Not happy at all. :(

As a new patient, she spent most of the time on the computer. Husband went in for a cough and she never even looked at his throat. I asked her to check his lungs. She was much more interested in cholesterol and diabetes than his history of leukemia and pneumonia. I won't be going back. She completely changed his medications to expensive ones. She even gave us a sample pack of an objectively mefication with no direction on how to do the injection or what dose to use.

This was my first appointment with her, after several years of not going to the doctor. She immediately addressed the fact that I'm overweight and asked if I had considered bariatric surgery. She didn't ask about my weight history, my diet, or any other factors about my life. The majority of the appointment she spent looking up a surgeon to refer me to.
