Dr. Swathi Gowtham, MD

In my 26 years of living with HIV I have never met a more arrogant or ignorant “specialist.” I am an HIV activist and educator who wanted to make decisions about my newborn’s care and this doctor had no concern for me, my history, or my education and knowledge on the matter. she did not let me or my partner speak or give our opinion, told me what I *couldnt* do against CDC guidelines that clearly state i can make my own informed decision with proper follow-up care, was very clearly looking for someone to blame for my own informed decision, and for whatever reason felt the need to tell me she studied at Johns Hopkins and “saw this all the time with immigrants” like somehow that made her wildly outdated and misinformed opinion credible. I switched my child to a specialist at CHOP and couldn’t be happier while I breastfeed her :)

She is very knowledgable and understanding of our fears about our child's illness. She took her time to answer our questions and provided us with a wealth of information.

Fantastic doctor! Very knowledgeable and great bedside manner. Highly recommended!
