Dr. Swapna Ghattamaneni, MD

I was in the ER for complications from a laminectomy. And I was being admitted. This doctor literally stepped over my husband’s legs did not say hello. Just started with “Why are you refusing dialysis?” I corrected her and she seemed dubious like I was making it up somehow. That’s why I titled this confirmation bias. She did not ask me who I was ; no name verification or dob verification. She did not even examine me. That’s what became a red flag. At first, I thought maybe it was a cultural thing until I had not seen her in four hours. And she did not put any orders in for medication. I was offered two acetaminophen 325mg. Mind you I could barely walk or lay in any position without pain. I’m not sure what was going on in her life or her day ,but she failed to meet the standard of care for me.

First, she is the first one sent my prescription to the other side of town, make it very in convenience for me to drive that far especially it happened right after I got of hospital. Second, she is the first one forgot to order homecare service for me. I was waiting and waiting nurses come treat my wounds but found out she nerve ordered for me but told me I have to call the homecare by myself. Then the homecare case manager told me it can not be my position to order service by myself it has to be by a doctor’s order. What an unprofessional & non knowledgeable so called doctor unfortunately.
