Dr. Svetlana Famina, MD

Dr. Famina was able to get me through a very challenging time in my life and now that I'm on the other side of it I am so grateful for her. She explained everything to me and didn't give me what I thought I wanted but rather what I actually needed at the time. She is an amazing doctor.

Dr. Famina has helped me in so many ways it's not even funny, she's just such a compassionate doctor and really makes me feel welcome. Helped me get from one of the worst parts in my life to one of the best, HIGHLY recommended her!

I have struggled for years, masking and bottling things in. I was nervous when I took the steps to visit and get to know Dr.Famina, but it’s literally been the best thing I’ve ever done. She listens, actually listens. She is kind, honest and very smart. I was able to confidently put my trust in her and I am grateful for her treatment and care. And her staff, her sweet hard working staff, always pleasant and comfortable. Mental health is sometimes life and death, for me it wasn’t just sadness or hopelessness it was dread, doom and constantly hiding myself with a smile. She and Dr.Portia saved my life, I’m thankful and you will be too.

Dr. Famina is one of the best, if not the best doctor I have ever encountered. She is compassionate, friendly, and extremely thorough with her patients. She is always welcoming and truly cares about her patients and helping them to improve. She is excellent in her recommendation of pharmaceuticals but not pushy. She is also like a therapist in that she is genuinely concerned with all facets of your life and what is bothering you. Everyone in her office is also extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. I highly recommend her!

I am currently seeing a neurologist. Neurosurgeon primary care physician psychiatrist counselor soon to be pain management and out of all of the physicians I have encountered or dealt with in the past 37 years. This office and particularly Dr. Famina have been nothing but wonderful. Every my chart message gets returned with someone on the other end sounding happy to help instead of most doctors offices calling back seeming frustrated you bothered them. I have never walked into this place. Left this place message to this place or called this place and ever felt like any sort of burden. They have always been more than friendly. More than willing to help and I literally cannot say enough positive stuff about Dr. Famina and her compassion

Dr. Famina cares about my problems. Probably the best I have seen in 38 years of treatment. Very conservative approach, great work with my medications and problems. Helped refer me for sleep problems I did not know I had. I am grateful for what she has done for me and ultimately my family.

Dr. Famina and her staff have completely changed my life. If you want to get better and want to put in the work to improve, do not hesitate. Not solely medication focused treatment, but hybrid of medication and therapy. I cannot reccomend Dr. Famina enough, she is compassionate but firm and always listens before speaking.

I met Dr. Famina when I was admitted to the inpatient unit for suicidal thoughts. At the time, I didn't know that I was experiencing burnout and fatigue from work. I was terrified of all of the uncertainties as I had never been admitted to a psychiatric hospital before. Upon getting up to the unit, the providers, staff, and patients all put me at ease. I felt comfortable immediately after I was told to think of this visit as a vacation without the beach or swimming pool! My experience, both inpatient and outpatient, has been phenomenal. I will be forever grateful for the care I continue to be provided. Never have a I felt more seen, heard, and validated for what I was going through then when treated by Dr. Famina. Seeking help, especially from Dr. Famina and her team, is single-handedly the best thing I've ever done for myself. I feel like a human again. I got my life back and am on to great things. All of this would not have been possible without the care I received.

She discovered that I was misdiagnosed, that I was on contraindicated medicine, and introduced me to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It all changed me life. She has an exceptional mind, an incredible bedside manner, and true empathy for her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Famina and the rest of the staff in the Lourdes Behioral Health Department.

Loved working along side Dr. Famina. Very caring and concerned for every patient. Takes the appropriate amount of time with the patient to understand how the patient is truly feeling.very caring to the staff as well. I would recommend Dr. famina anytime!!

Excellent doctor!

Dr. Famina is very kind, compassionate and always professional. She is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Kelly, her counselor, is also very pleasant, caring and professional. Amanda, at the front desk, is friendly, helpful and you can hear her smile through the phone. Pam, her office manager, has gone above and beyond when dealing with insurance, and always very kind and helpful. They never make you feel rushed and truly care about their patients. I highly recommend her and I wouldn’t want to ever go anywhere else!
