I had a colonospy and EGD stretching. He did great! Bedside manner is fantastic, very knowledgeable and through. He listened and asked a lot of questions. I highly recommend

Office over billed for a routine "age screening".
His office coded what was supposed to be a free-of-charge (to me) age-screening colonoscopy. Prior to the procedure being performed, I checked with my insurance carrier and was assured there was no cost to me under their contract with Dr. Sarvaria. However, Dr. Savaria ordered a corrective procedure with the Hospital providing the operating room, and "surprise!", when I arrived to check in at the Hospital for the procedure, the Hospital told me their bill would be several thousand dollars. I asked them why, but the clerk could not tell me at that time so I was given a choice of leaving to going through with this. I chose not to leave and went through the colonoscopy. When I got a large bill from Dr. Savaria also, I called his office to see why this was the case when it should have been free of charge to me. His office told me he ordered a corrective procedure rather than the routine age screening colonoscopy. I was also now in collections. I called BC and they intervened.

saved my life..twice
Dr. Sarvaria happened to be on call when I was admitted through the ER for acute pancreatitis in 2014. That illness left me with pseudocysts in my pancreas. I had my gallbladder removed as a result and to prevent any further issues. He monitored my condition for the next 3 yrs. He saved my life again in 2017 when his instance on having routine blood work for every visit found I was dangerously anemic and his "I wont take no for an answer" determination that I have a colonoscopy at 44 and found I had stage 2 colon cancer. I'm here today because Dr. Sarvaria is dedicated to his job and his patients.

just now I had a colonoscopy 10/03/2019. Dr. Sarvaria and his staff were outstanding. Heidi, the nurse that prepped me for the procedure, was wonderful and very understanding of my anxiety and fears. I can't say thank you enough for your kindness you showed me and my husband.

I have numerous medical problems and have been under his care for two years. He has been very thorough as my problems overlap each other. I have seen two other gastroenterologists in town who didn't say much of anything and one didn't even examine me. Dr. Sarvaria is the best gastroenterologist in the area including those I have seen at Vanderbilt. I cannot strongly recommend enough.

Really dissatisfied with the care at this place. I waited almost 2 hours before I even saw the dr. Then he spent less than 15 minutes with me. Apparently I was the last patient before lunch even though my appointment was at 10:30. I people were going in and coming out while I sat first in the lobby and then in exam room. A prescription was suppose to be called into my pharmacy but never was on that day. I had to call them the next day to remind them. Debating on f/u appointment.

Dr. Sarvaria did not take the time to explain to me the results of my colonoscopy and EGD procedure. He talked to me for no more than 2 minutes and walked out. As he hurriedly backed away, I had to stop him and say, "Wait a minute, did you find any polyps?" Only then did he very briefly and all too incompletely reveal what he found. I am kicking myself for not researching him before making the appointment. If so, I would have seen all of his many other negative reviews and steered clear!

While Dr. Sarvaria seems knowledgeable and is caring, his manner is abrupt to the point of seeming rude. But my complaint isn't with him or most of the medical staff. It is with the office. Almost every office person I've dealt with is non-responsive, disorganized and/or ignorant. I left this doctor because of his office staff.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Sarvaria?
I must say Dr. Sarvaria and his staff are friendly. However, the most important aspect in patient care is the knowledge a Provider has and the communication he has between himself, his staff and his patient, which is very much lacking. I explained to him more than twice my symptoms, and yet he still called in prescriptions of which can be bought over the counter. Not to mention he failed to inform me he was calling in any prescriptions. Communication is key. I was very disappointed.
