Major office problems
Nothing to do with the Doctor but I agree with the poor reviews of the staff. 5 messages for the Dr to call me. Never received a call back. The staff doesn’t seem happy and you can feel it. Total chaos. Not sure any of my messages were ever given to him. Just a lack of follow up to phone calls. Changed to Dr Spitz in Wellington who has been wonderful.

UNRESPONSIVE OFFICE
My Aunt was diagnosed with cancer, this office came recommended to us so I called to get a consultation. I have been calling for 2 days left multiple messages and am still waiting for a callback. I don't think this is a doctor issue as much as it would be a staffing issue. The "answering service" claims that they can't reach the office for 2 days. Good thing there are other Hematology doctors in the area.

My last visit 11/22/21 with the good Dr went well; however I was to receive a phone call with my blood work results that following Monday and it is now 12/13 with no call back from Dr Patel. Instead I received a call approximately 9-10 days after my visit by his assistant with ornery disrespectful disposition! She contacted me to tell me my blood work had been compromised and therefore would need to be taken again! I too work and cannot take off whenever it is convenient for her therefore Nancy in the office arranged for Apex lab to come out to me! I have yet to receive any call back with results but instead received a diagnosis by mail...????IS THIS HOW A MEDICAL OFFICE DESLI G WITH SUCH DEBILITATING AND FATAL ILL ESSES SHOULD BEHAVE? It behooves this doctor his partners and his manager to learn how to run a business of this kind since they are dealing with people’s lives not bagels in a bagel shop??

I saw Dr. Patel in June of 2020. I was referred to him by my PCP due to a recurrent low WBC count, and other unexplained systemic changes, including fatigue, pain, and more. It was scary for me to be in an oncology office, and to make matters worse, from the moment Dr. Patel walked in, it was clear he was not listening to my concerns or review of symptoms. He touched the mask on his face repeatedly, asked questions to which I had already given the answer, provided no validation for my reports, and walked out of the room when I was mid sentence to get his phone. I asked for my blood type and he said that's not something he is accustomed to doing. I cant imagine a more fitting place for blood typing than a hematologist's office. After the techs drew blood, he said, "You're fine," no further details given, and told the techs to "pick a date" for me to return. The tech asked, "When? One week, one month?" Dr. Patel said, "you pick!" I would never go back or refer anyone to him.

If it wasn't for the office being run by...nobody, I would have given Dr Patel a higher rating. Office staff seems to be incapable of answering the phone or returning phone calls. If a family member had to go to this office more than once or twice a year, we would have changed Dr's.

Doctor Patel is simply an incredible Doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. He is currently treating me re Stage IV Lung Cancer and has instilled nothing but confidence in me and the treatment protocol he has laid out for me. I would recommend this man to anyone who is battling this insidious disease. God Bless Doctor Patel and his amazing staff !

I recently visited Dr. Patel with my brother-in-law who suffers from lung cancer. I found Dr. Patel to be a very caring, thorough physician who never made us feel rushed and answered all our questions. He is very knowledgeable in his field and has a warm "bedside manner" that is very comforting. A+ oncologist.

To the point. Seemed truly interested in what was wrong with me and broke down exactly how he planned to diagnose me. I appreciated his candor. As someone with stage 4 cancer, I appreciated his demeanor. I wanted the truth and he gave it to me.

Horrible bedside manner. Doesn't talk to you - doesn't look you in the eye and sure doesn't spend any time with you. You ask questions and he seems put out. This is for my sister's care and he just doesn't give a care about her.
