Experienced but not patient friendly
Dr. Mittal seems to have years of experience and education and the actual ablation seemed to go fine. But often when you speak with him, it seems like he has one foot out the door and you're bothering him by asking questions and clarification. He doesn't explain things comprehensively at first so you have to ask the questions to tease out the full picture. This type of treatment doesn't give patients and family members confidence. If you don't need to ask questions and trust implicitly what a doctor says, he's fine.

Just bad
I had a mechanical heart valve(ball in cage) and developed persistent afib. Went to see Dr Mittal after good internet reviews to explore doing a catheter ablation. He straight up told me cardiac ablation cannot be done because of my mechanical valve and said i might be better off getting a pacemaker. I did not give up and found Dr Vivek Reddy in Mount Sinai who said the metal valve is not an issue, did the ablation and now i am afib free for 6 years. If i listened to Dr Mittal’s terrible, ignorant advise, I would not have gotten this new life. Stay away!!

When I went to Dr. Mittal last year after a WPW diagnosis, he gave me little time, pushed me toward ablation like a stereotypical car salesman & saw me out (literally). Any questions my mom or I asked were met w/a fast, uninformative answer & our questions seemed like an annoyance to him. I definitely got the impression I was supposed to obey his command to have heart surgery w/no informed decision on my part. I went to Hackensack where the EP took the time to answer my family’s & my questions.

Dr Suneet Mittal along with Dr Alex Zapolanski, MD, performed an eight hour Hybrid Ablation at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood NJ. I suffered with Afib for years and now was the time to have it done.My doctor in the Hudson Valley of NY called me after hours and told me going to NYU Hospital in NYC was not the answer to my problem. The valley hospital in Ridgewood , NJ had the doctors to perform this new approach to solve my Afib problem. He is very prompt highly qualified and very Human.
