Not Professional
My experiences were not positive. I, too, had an okay experience until I was blindsided by the treatment from the staff and Dr. Varma. I felt ignored by the front desk, never received a greeting. I was treated as if they were doing me a favor. I've worked in the medical field my entire life. Never been in an office that was so disorganized. There was confusion because of frequent staff changes. There was never a 'thank you, have a nice day', even after I said it first. There's a reason for all the 5 stars..

Dr. Varma actually cares about his patients. He listens and explains things making thing easy to understand. He always makes you a participant in your care NEVER forces thing such as meds on you. I have seen him for many years and he alway remembers things we talk about and I have laughed with him about my favorite tv shows many times. Best Dr I have ever had. Dr. Varma is the very best!

Excellence in truly caring about his patients ! – Oct 04, 2022
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Varma?
Beware—don’t trust this doctor
Dr. Varma rescinded my prescription without warning, throwing me into a crisis from which I have yet to recover and fear I may never recover. It has been more than 5 months since I was dumped as a patient and accused falsely of crimes and his staff lied to my primary doctor about me and things I did NOT do or say.

Dr. Varma was nice but due to COVID I was only able to have virtual appointments. I thought they would be video but both times he changed it to just a phone call, then would call me not at my appointment time and would rush the conversation. Even after I stated I was driving in the car he asked to still continue the appointment while I drove over the phone. I don’t feel like he took the time to really understand what I needed as a patient. I have a feeling it would’ve been a better experience in person.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Varma?
Dr. Sujit Varma has helped my family & I since 2017 when our lives & health did a 180 degree turn for the worse. He helped to stabilize several of my loved ones who had undiagnosed mental health issues as we had no idea what was going on or why our loved ones were acting out (cooking, cleaning & showering nonstop getting extremely upset & argumentative at any given time & then sleeping for days). After more than 50+ years & no help from any licensed medical provider diagnosing or treating our loved ones, Dr. Varma helped us immensely by meeting with our family, patiently listening then carefully diagnosing, explaining, giving a “name” to the illnesses & accompanying behaviors / patterns. Now that we know what we’re dealing with we can better help our loved ones we can educate ourselves to make all of our lives better, healthier & more joyful. I very highly recommend Dr. Varma as a skilled, super experienced & professional provider. Dr Vis kind, genuine & empathetic person Thank You.

Dr Varma is a kind and great doctor he makes sure that you are comfortable and agree with every treatment he offers you and if you are not comfortable with an option he accepts that and never makes you feel bad or shamed for not wanting to try something you’re not willing or comfortable with. He makes you the driver of your health care, only makes suggestions and treats you like a human being. I would highly recommend Dr Varma to anyone in need of any of the many health services he is licensed to provide. Dr. Varma is amazing takes time and never rushes you in and out of his office. I am grateful to have found him years ago! DFR

He does not listen to well, or at all. He is just in a hurry to get on to the next thing. Always in a hurry, did not take time to really take care of the case and in too much of a hurry to check case file and made a mistake.

About 10 years ago, I walked into his office, no diagnosis. Was a HEAVY stimulant user which he didn't seem to notice hence why I literally (17 years old at the time) convinced a profressional to prescribe me to the strongest benzo, Klonipin. Gave me almost zero warnings about what my life would become when he decided my insurance wasn't covering enough and pawned me off on an unrelated doctor after trying to revoke my life saving meds. I truly needed them and had become dependant. Heartless, illogical, just plain incompetency. Not to mention he ended up getting paid by me again after the "random nearby doctor" he switched me to were also the designated psych ward counselors for Fairview Southdale. His buddy, Awosika, hard name to forget. Also figured it would be totally fine to ruin my late teen years with all sorts of new anti-pyschotics that had barely been tested. I lost years of my life and have almost died many times. No doctor should start an undiagnosed patient on 1.5mg of clon

Very smart individual with unparalleled experience. Unlike many doctors that get stuck in their ways and simply look at each patient, diagnosis, and treatment through the "lense" of past experience, while taking the minimum amount of continuing education courses required for licensing, Dr. Varma strives to stay on the forefront of research. This is an area of interest of mine, and Dr. Varma will discuss or email with me about new research articles, ongoing studies, etc...He understands that each patient is different and treats them all with the approach that works best for their needs. Most importantly, he shows a level of compassion that is missing in far too many doctors. While many doctors recklessly start and stop patients on medications, treating them like lab rats, Dr. Varma understands the long term impact many medications can have and is well trained in the titration and discontinuation of medications.
