Great doctor - excellent diagnostic skills and very compassionate. I've been seeing him for over ten years. I have always adored his staff. He is incredibly responsive and caring. He listens to my concerns and works with me. He has a wicked sense of humor. Be warned that since the practice moved to NYU facility, it is maddening to try to get an appointment or get through to his staff. Carmen is terrific but I can't reach her. NYU doesn't want you to call - only access through the patient portal. Forget about the human touch when you have issues and just want to talk to a human. This is not limited to Dr. Garay nor it is a reflection of his approach. Most of my doctors are at NYU and this is typical. The doctors are great but the operation should get a negative rating.

dr good The girls in office not accommodating
Carmen still did not get records and holding me back from seeing another pulmonary doctor.Said because was not there since aproX 3 years could not take my medicare anymore. Well there was covid (try getting apPt) was laid up with Sciatia and epidurals 9 months and then assaulted on street by crazy lenox hill md giving me MI. So now was trying to get in as shortness of breathe worse..........would not accommodate . Rude and still waiting FOR RECORDS\AND PFT TEST CHARTS AND RESUL .Called today spoke to Michele keep cutting me off but promised Carmen she will speak to Friday. I will not hold th little breathe that I have. By law records entitled to records!!!VERY IMPORTANT FOR COMPARISON. I worked in Med and dental field this is not how you treat patients. I COMPLEMENT DR GARAY bou was upset that He no longer would take my medicare. because too much time passed but consid the worlds and my medical circumstances /COVID MY SCAITICA AND MI........HOW NICE! I have been a patient of Dr Garay for more than 30 years. His diagnostic skills are superb. I recently had respiratory symptoms after a vaccine, and he called me back in the evening after a long day of patient care. I would highly recommend Dr Garay.

I recieved very different diagnoses each time I visited. None were entirely similar to the one I finally received elsewhere. When I reminded him about the things he had told me in previous visits he became very angry and denied saying them. This was confusing, to say the least. How would I have the background to make these things up ? Don't. Just don't.

Dr Garay discovered that I had pneumonia when my regular doctor said that it was just a cough. He called me at my home only hours after taking an x-ray.He was caring and informative in away that doctors today are not.One of the best in his field.

More interested in dictating than treating a patient. If you not from someone famous forget about it. No ethics as a doctor. Staff is rude, his nurse practitioner knows more than he does.

Excellent doc! Yes, there are problems with wait times, but Dr. Garay is definitely worth the wait. Dr. Garay does a fantastic job monitoring my asthma and adjusting my medications appropriately. He is a good listener ? even compassionate ? so important with a decades-long relationship.

Waited 90 minutes for appt. Patient in front of me waited close to hour but said that's a chronic situation and told me he's an excellent doctor and worth the issues with waiting. Had excellent discussion where the doctor promised to follow up regarding a procedure he was looking in to for me with my insurance company. I phoned 3 times over the course of 4 months to the point I told the receptionist I'll assume him not wanting to return my call means I need to move on. Waste of my insurance $$
