No, I would not recommend him to family and friends. If there were less than 1 star, I would give him a negative score. He has an extremely bad bedside manner. His has a god-like persona and does not speak directly with the patient when he is in the room. He acts like the patient is not even there. He has a way of objectifying the person, making them not even feel like a human being. I have never met any person like this before in my life.

I will forever be grateful to Dr. Werns for the compassion he showed to my father during his final days and to my family. During my father’s last days at the hospital Dr. Werns was our only advocate when hospital doctors and staff didn’t answer our questions and concerns. He oversaw my father’s cardiology care for several years and kept his heart ticking. My father died Of other ailments. Dr. Werns is an excellent cardiologist and a wonderful human being.
