Dishonest insurance practices
Medical care was fine but the insurance practices are quite dishonest. Dr. Ugras's website states that his office, 'verify your insurance and give you the most up-to-date information on your particular plan, and let you know prior to your appointment. That didn't happen instead 7 months after my first visit and after 2 additional visits my insurance company informs me that Dr. Ugras is out of network. I later find out from his billing company that Dr. Ugras does not participate in ANY insurance plan, which is certainly not what is implied from his website. Because of this dishonesty in addition to not doing what is promised on his website (letting me know prior to my appointment the insurance coverage) I received a bill for over $1,000. I would be very careful about this provider.

Beware
I donot recommend Dr. Steven Ugras or his practice. I was misled and had to pay extra on top of my insurance which is very good. I’ve had numerous surgeries due to playing sports and never had to pay extra. A simple procedure to correct a broken middle finger cost me so much more than I was led to believe. I simply can’t recommend this doctors or practice with a clear conscience. Dr. Ugras has to know that this is happening. This is wrong and it is excessive charging in my opinion. Potential patient be wise and do your research.

Dr. Ugras takes time with the patient!
Dr. Ugras is extremely professional: he takes time to listen to my many questions and concerns. He also takes the necessary time to explain regarding the options for my "trigger finger" - in a relaxed and not-rushed appointment. A first rate professional experience and recommend Paramus Hand Surgery without any reservations. In addition, Dr. Ugras' front office staff are professional and efficient. And, a special shout-out to Jevon, Medical Scribe, who was most helpful with the required paperwork. Thank you!

Dr. Ugras performed emergency surgery on a severed artery and some torn tendons at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Prior to surgery I could not feel my fingers and had lost a decent amount of blood. Overall I am very pleased with the articulation of my hand as well how nicely the scar is coming along. I would highly recommend the mastery of Dr. Ugras.

Morristown Hospital emergency room treatment for a 10 year old. Actually scared the child and was very condescending to the parents. I assume the only way this doctor can add clients is via emergency room visits because the patients (victims) have no other choice.

I highly recommend Dr. Ugras! He has performed four trigger finger surgeries on me and I couldn't be happier with the results. He explained all of my options very clearly and in depth. And did so in a manner that I could clearly understand using terminology that was easy for a non medically trained person to understand . He has a great personality and bedside manner. He gives you all of your options on your treatment and the decision is all yours, no pressure to perform expensive procedures.
