Rude
Telehealth
Telehealth call lasted exactly 3 minutes. He was unable to help me due to neither of us knowing how I could add a photo for him to see the issue. Told me to hang up, add it and call again, and that I would need to pay the nearly $100 fee again. Other than that, he didn’t seem to want to help me anyways.

Doesn't believe you
Telehealth
I had a simple visit with Dr. Steven Swearingen. It was clear from the get-go that he thought he understood my issue better than anyone could. Didn't ask any questions, gave a diagnosis within a minute and stuck to it no matter what questions I asked or info I added. Went to my primary care and they tested me and confirmed what I was trying to say. Previous teladoc visits have gone way better so I think this is a him issue.

Excellent Care & LISTENED!
Telehealth
My appt was at 4am, Monday AM via Teladoc. My family has been directly affected by the Apalachee School shooting which is why I was not going to be able to make it into my primary care or Ophthalmologist later in the day. He was EXTREMELY EMPATHETIC, sympathetic & listened intently. I have chronic Blepharitis (an infection in the eye lids) & had required antibiotic intervention for the left eye a month ago, almost to the day. I explained that I usually see an Ophthalmologist but that just was not going to be able to be fit in to this week, as funerals and celebrations of life started last night. He was more than willing to treat with the topical antibiotic I usually receive & he asked if there was anything else he could do for me. He wished me a better week and when I answered 'Thank you. We're going to be alright. We're going to be okay...' he said 'Yes you are. Try to rest..' -- I couldn't have asked for a more understanding Dr who prevented extra stress by listening & treating me.

Rude and Unhelpful
Telehealth
Dr. Swearingen was rude and unhelpful during a Teladoc visit for my son, who was very obviously suffering from a respiratory infection. After explaining my son's symptoms, Dr. Swearingen immediately said it sounded 'viral' and told us there was nothing he could do. It was clear he couldn't get off the phone fast enough. All total, he spent less than 5 minutes speaking with me and told me to just take my son to a medical professional in person if he wasn't better in a day. Gee, thanks... Of course, Teladoc still charged me $45, even though the whole thing was a complete waste of time.

Steven was very rude during my tele doc visit. He was just super condescending the entire time. After being rude, I wanted to talk to another doctor about my condition and get a second opinion. He then went out of his way to leave notes on my tele doc and LIED 100% and put that I said I was going to call back and lie to try to get antibiotics, so that it would be more complicated for me. I NEVER remotely even came close to saying that. Very rude, uncaring, and made me feel worse. I’d recommend staying away from him and read all of his reviews. Unfortunately I was paired with a doctor whom needs an attitude check and needs to learn how to have empathy for others when they are ill. Worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor and tele health.

Terrible
Terrible experience with him on Teladoc. I told him that I needed documentation of my illness for work, but he opted not to document what I told him. He made no attempt to ask me any questions about my condition or to offer any medical advice. It seems that virtual visits are an easy side hustle for him that enables him to make money without making any effort. Even so, he's unwilling to make the minimal effort of documenting what patients tell him.

Awful
Saw him at ER and he is the most uncaring provider I have ever encountered! Never even examined me! Relied solely in CT scan!

NO.I wouId not recommend him or Advent health to any of my friends ,family or my worst enemies.I have advanced rhumetoid Arthritis,Explained this in detail and that I was in extreme pain despite the fact I have plenty of pain medication at home and requested blood test for white blood cell count.Diagnosed and dismissed in under 30 minutes as not taking my medicine and received 12 pages of what to do if I have covid. If this is Advent healths approach to all its patients medical needs maybe yall should take up selling cars.Worthless doctor, wonderful security guard and very helpful receiving nurse .This is the only help you will receive if this doctor is on the rotation.

My husband had the good fortune to have Dr. Swearingen at the Advent ER on Taylor Rd. last night. He was extremely ill and the staff took care of him immediately. Dr. Swearingen showed real compassion, ordered a battery of tests, explained the results, and prescribed medication. I am at a loss to understand how anyone could write negative comments about him. He is the kind of doctor people search for. Thank you Dr. Swearingen, and also a thank you to the staff at Taylor Rd. Advent ER.

Dr Swearingen was one of the most polite and intuitive physicians I have encountered. He showed great empathy and diagnosed me correctly and had me out of the ED very quickly. I cannot believe the review prior to this one could hold any truth. Probably a drug addict who didn't get their narcotics filled. Thank you Dr Swearingen, I greatly appreciate your help!

Probably the WORST physician I have ever encountered. I'm not sure how he can diagnose and assist you in under 3 minutes. What also amazes me is that he is employed with a Hospital that is opposite? in care values. Avoid this Dr. at all times he is a profiler and judge and actually knows nothing about the core values of the Hospital he works for. Never fear the CEO will find out soon enough. Every oppurtunity I will post reviews. Game On !
