Dr. Steven Shields, MD

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Shield, and he went above and beyond even calling me on the July 4th weekend to answer my questions. His report was very thorough and complete. He and his office have followed up to make sure that I was having the necessary follow up testing done. I have moved out of the area, and I am sorry because I was so pleased with my interaction with him as my doctor.

He does not respond to patient questions. He doesn't care about his patient's well being and has zero bed side manners. It does not offer any information that you can't find on google. He is useless.

I had a very bad experience with this doctor. He did not listen to my concerns. He is rude and arrogant when you ask for further explanations.

I came here to express my concerns with Dr. Shields and was shocked to see that he had given the same poor treatment and advice to someone else! When speaking to him about a serious concern (that I was referred to him both by the ER and my primary care doctor), he recommended that I just take Pepto Bismol and refused to see me further. They also wouldn't allow me to see another doctor in the office, and I now have to go BACK to my primary care doctor to get referred elsewhere. I have many medical issues and have seen many, many specialists. This is by far the worst care I've ever received. If you're referred to him, do NOT see him - ask to see someone else in the office before you're prescribed Pepto Bismol and ignored.

Very POOR follow up on a serious situation that has caused me to loose over 25lbs. His recommendation after initial testing was for me to take more Pepto Bismal! Lahey is performing exceptional testing and getting to the bottom of the situation that I feel this doctor was negligent in his follow up!!!!

His staff is fine, but he is NOT a good doctor. Totally arrogant and unfriendly to patients. Doesn't give you your lab results. Doesn't explain anything. Doesn't return phone calls - ever. Worst doctor I've ever been to in my life.
