He is very personable, answers questions, and doesn't rush through your appointment. I had blood tests, was scheduled a follow-up at my first appointment for my blood work results. He told me at my first appointment that if there was anything that came out badly that he would call me before my next appointment. Todika, his medical assistant was a pleasure to be around. She is genuinely friendly, kind and good at what she does. The front desk staff were also friendly and efficient.

No because he doesn't foll I w through with his patients. I went to another dr to understand the tests dr. Portney ordered and my next steps I needed to take for my health.

About 2 years ago, I went in for painful joints, dry eyes, etc. They took blood and never called me. When I called the office (rude): "we would have called you if there was anything wrong". Well, ok! A year later I go in for pain in my joints, dry eyes, etc. and he said "why didn't you follow up on the last visit?" He took blood, said I was fine and, after finding ANOTHER rheumatologist, find I have advancing psoriatic arthritis that could have been under control if Dr. Portney had done his job!
