My total hiP replacement
I have psoriatic arthritis. Dr. Olsen was recommended by my Artis Dr. in Wilmington, NC. My joints are bad. Dr. Olsen replaced my hip joint, however my femur fractured during creating a hole for the prosthesis, therefore having him to cable my femur in order to complete the surgery. It’s been quite a number of years ago and I healed very well. I’m now needing my right hip done and Dr. Olsen is the only Dr., I’ll go to! He even came to the rehabilitation center I was in when I asked him too! He’s a fantastic trainer surgeon on joints. I trust him explicitly as he was fantastic at explaining to me all the questions I had, and put me at ease. My arthritis Doctor knew I would need Dr. Olsens expertise. He was excellent with me , he listened and was forthcoming with answers. He assured me he would be there for me and he was. He’s fantastic!

Dr. Olson seemed senile and was quite off-putting during my appointment. He kept asking the same questions over and over, and couldn't get any of my imaging to load. When he finally did, he was incredibly dismissive. He was not helpful at all, said some rude comments about my body, and sent me away without any semblance of an answer. 0 stars.

Dr. Olson did my very needed hip replacement. He is a skilled surgeon and a very kind person as well. I am so grateful to him for eliminating my arthritic pain.

Dr. Olson is a caring doctor who really listens. He personally takes ownership of his surgical cases - he doesn't fob people off to an NP or someone else for post op appointments etc. He diagnosed my daughter with Hip dysplasia and clearly showed us on an x ray what other local doctors could not. He operated on my daughter in February 2018 and a year later removed some screws (which we knew might need doing) She is now back to sports and is doing great.

If I could rate below 1 star, I would. I’ll never forget Dr Olson telling me: “You people who have traumatic hip replacement are so ungrateful.” —his response when I told him I was having popping & paralysis of my hip joint 1 week post surgery. He did nothing to investigate why I was having this subluxation, and today, 3 years later, I am scheduled for a 7-9 hour surgery to replace the failing device. Category? Worst Doctor Ever. I beg you to seek another surgeon, if you have the option.
