One of the most helpful doctors I have had in my fight to re-gain functionality.

I had several appointments and procedures with Dr. Johnson , following a disappointing and costly experience with the competitive Spinal Institute in Anchorage. I found him to be highly professional , who listened to my concerns and did his best to provide relief and to diagnose the specific pain issues I was experiencing. These days, finding a doctor that actively listens to their patients is one of the highest recommendations I can make.

Dr Johnson was able to diagnose a rare, complex disorder and staff at Surgical Specialists of AK even worked with insurance to get coverage for the testing necessary. I have seen many specialists, including one claiming to be the only Ehlers Danlos specialist in the state, and it wasn't until I saw Dr. Johnson at Surgical Specialists of AK that this test was ordered. It wasn't uncovered expensive genetic testing, since this lab test detects a deficiency in an enzyme. His management plan has resulted in an incredible improvement to my quality of life. He is open-minded; he supports research into specific microcurrent therapy (which has helped him), my use of my long-time chiropractor, supplements, and various other things I have found helpful. He stands out to me as someone who genuinely cares about the good of his patients and he stands up for them, more than what's typical. Feeling like I have an advocate for my quality of life means the world to me.

Dr. Johnson is amiable, very through and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him as a pain management doctor. I would especially send a shout out to any one with CRPS (RSD changed to CRPS), as he is able to diagnose you, he was recommended by RSDA. I was really lucky as I've had it for 34 yrs. most of it spent without proper treatment. I am so happy to have a Dr. that has the knowledge to treat me properly and understands what I'm truly going through. Thank you, Dr. Johnson.
