Dr. Steven Horrocks, DO

He’s always there for me ready to listen and I’ve been in a lot since I was in an accident and is willing to let me try new meds that may make a difference in my life.

Medically speaking, it is an excellent relationship. Access to my doctor is much quicker and easier than I have been able to achieve prior to MD VIP. Dr. Horrocks is available immediately by phone, email or scheduling an appointment for in office visit. I received the best physical exam ever. He has me on a plan of better health and I am confident of achievement. The feeling of his personal attention to me and friendship is certainly there. I am very thankful that we have Dr. Horrocks medical practice as our primary care. His office staff is excellent. My wife and I are extremely satisfied!

I’m new to the area and was concerned about finding a good doctor. Dr Horrocks came highly recommended by a neighbor. I have seen Dr Horrocks two or three times this year, and have been very satisfied with each visit. He is very knowledgeable, takes his time with questions and concerns, and is available with a day notice, sometimes same day! He is also a preferred provider with my insurance. I would highly recommend Dr Horrocks, especially while he still has space available.

I was not sure if this was the way I wanted to go, paying through MDVIP. However, I quickly was on board when I was invited in for a free 30 min consult with Dr. Horrocks to see if I felt safe and in competent hands. You see...Doctors in AZ are mostly subpar in their practices. I do not believe it is the doctor; I think it is the system! So going through MDVIP allowed me to find a Doctor (not a PA) and, better yet, a DO! Dr. Horrocks quickly noticed my injury and took my (home-bought) brace and gave me (GAVE ME!!!) a brace that INSTANTLY helped with the horrible pain in my wrist and thumb from a fall. Dr. Horrocks sent me for an X-Ray and wrote a requisition order (I AM NOT HIS PATIENT YET...), "He Cares!!" is all I could think of. This immediately took away the stress and that seemed to ease the pain as well. Beth (at the front desk) is SUPER! She is kind, knowledgable, and patient! The few times we have interacted, she has made me laugh! Updates coming, stay tuned!????

My husband and I moved into Surprise July 2019 and in November we saw Dr. Horrocks for the 1st time. He seemed fine and my husband made a follow-up appointment for early Feb. When Feb came, he was informed that Dr. Horrocks was now charging $1,800 a year to each patient ( that would be $3,600 for the 2 of us, EVERY YEAR ) just for the honor of being his patient. Apparently, he decided to do this the month after our first appointment. We received no letter or any other communication about this. When my husband asked him why he hadn't told us this at our initial appointment one month before, he replied he had been "still on the fence" about it. So, he was paring down his practice to 400 patients. 1800 times 400 is...yes, an astounding $720,000.00 each year, for nothing! Good luck to you, doc. This might play well in Fountain Hills, but not in Surprise, and definitely not in our household.

Dr. Horrocks is one of the best doctors I have ever been to (and unfortunately that is a lot). He truly cares for his patients and listens to us. He asks questions to find out how we are. He is caring and really helps. Scheduling is easy and his staff is awesome. He joined MDVIP, and we decided to continue to with his office even with the extra charge because of how amazing he is. We have been with him since late 2012.

Knew I had a problem but didn't want to go in. Had been to Dr. Horrocks 6-months prior for my annual physical. Called in for appt on Thursday and was told the doc had one opening left on Friday. I arrived, waited 5-mins, was called in, had vitals taken, waited 5-10 mins and Dr came in. He diagnosed me in less than 10-mins (and even noticed I'd cut my hair shorter!). Now that's service!!

I’m one of Dr. Horrocks’ original patients. As being a medical professional myself, he takes the time to listen to my concerns. Rachel, his PA, is also a rockstar. They both take the time with their patients to address all concerns and develop a treatment plan best suited for each patient. Although, I have to say the one receptionist could use a bit of an attitude adjustment. She can be rude and think she rules everything. Leaving messages with her don’t seem to go to doc, but email is no prob.

The most wonderful respectful and truly unbelievable team i have ever had! I truly love them!

We have been so lucky to find suck an amazing Doctor. He is always intuitive and listens, and I mean actually listens when you talk. He may be the most caring and intelligent Doctor I've ever been to.

Dr. Horrocks has been my family doctor for almost 5 years. An Urgent Care Dr. recommended him to me as I had just moved to AZ. Dr. Horrocks was the first and only doctor to immediately suspect what my chronic condition was. He ordered a CAT scan which confirmed his diagnosis. Three previous doctors had NO clue! Dr. Horrocks is very thorough, very kind and sincerely compassionate. The office is very nice and the staff is kind and helpful. It's the best medical office I have ever been to.

As a healthcare retiree from a different state, finding a new Dr when you haven't worked with them can be a bit scary. Dr. Horrocks is very thorough and knowledgable, always checks the chart and takes his time and answers questions and really listens. He is always kind and pleasant and I never feel he is rushing us. His staff is organized, helpful and seem genuinely happy with their job which also says a lot about the way Dr Horrocks treats people. I highly rcommend this Dr.

I've been going to his office for over 3 years. I love his PA Rachel Carney. She has a very friendly warm personality and is alway thorough with my exam and consultation. She found my thyroid cancer after several other doctors missed it. She also found my husband's skin cancer. She always responds to all my emails and sends me procedure and lab results the same day she receives them. She has gotten to know us well and never fails to see us when we need her. I highly recommend both of them

Dr. Horrocks recommended a potentially devastating change to my medication based on (erroneous) info related to him by his PA, without discussing the situation with me at all. If he had spoken to me, I could have easily corrected his misapprehension...but he didn't. I had intended to follow his recommendation, but fortunately found out the basis for it first. If you go to him, make sure you talk to him YOURSELF about every issue you have.

I came to this doctor with extreme illness. He has been a blessing to me. He's not one who pretends to listen, HE HEARS me when I talk. No nonsense. No patronizing. No pompous attitude. He's real, he's honest and he is wonderful! Each time I leave his office I'm happy that I came. What a relief! The staff is very caring, professional and they listen. That's a hard thing to find these days. I can't say enough good things. It's not the typical office.
