Horrible experience
I had cataract surgery in both eyes. Dr. Dewey left a lens fragment in my right eye. I paid an extra $respo 2600 for the lens in my left eye, and my current eye doctor said it didn’t properly adhere to my eye. My eyesight has not improved at all.

Overcharged, coded wrong and no one will help
Don’t recommend. We are getting raked over the coal financially and no one answers the phone and wants to resolve. Hiding behind voicemail and ripping us off $200. Highest priced and lowest care is your goal, call Dr. Dewey. It is coded wrong. Costing us extra $200. Repeat clients no more. Maybe he needs another dinner out, too big for his breaches or just incompetence. No matter the reason, we were ripped off.

Very knowledgeable, successful surgery
He did my cataracts in 2020. I have a corneal issue that made it challenging. He consulted with another doctor to make sure it was successful. Nice office. Mostly on time.

I was scheduled for an eye exam at 10:15 in the morning, I arrived on time and was taken straight back but I sat in the exam room for 45 minutes with no one coming in. My total appointment took 2 HOURS and 20 MINUTES.... This is a little rediculous...if it was a problem with scheduling I would have rather had my appointment moved to another day!!!!!

Cataract Surgery and eye care visits every 2 years
Great results from surgery. Clear vision and no glasses required. It has been 10 years, still great vision without glasses except for reading which was expected.

Dr. Dewey has the knowledge and skill to do cataract surgery. I read his background info and I was impressed. What he is lacking, in my opinion, is people skills. I found him to be rushed and dismissive. When I experienced post surgery complications he appeared defensive, telling me “be patient; it may take weeks or months for you to heal; just be patient.” An abrasion occurred during my surgery. He chose to put a contact lens on my eye to protect and speed recovery. That only complicated recovery as it stuck to my very dry eye ( Sjogrens Syndrome) and it had to be peeled off two days later. Further, my vision has not cleared up after 23 days. I am still experiencing blurriness. I did not expect this kind of treatment nor complications. I am disappointed!

I have been seeing Dr. Dewey for a number of years. I do not know what happened the last time I saw him, but it was a most horrible experience. The doctor came into the room with a nasty demeanor and looked angrily at me. Why? He handled me in such a rough manner that I felt violated by him. Yes, Violated. I am not a lightweight; I can take a lot, but this was too much. He roughed me up so badly; I did not understand why. He pressed down on areas that I told him were already extremely painful, but he still pushed on needlessly hard. I am not a complaining type of individual and this is the first time that I am writing a review like this. Shame on him for being so callous and not attending to my concerns as his patient who was already in such pain and fear of blindness. I left the office, but turned right around and complained to the staff. No apology from this horrible man. I have since found another doctor and he has helped soothe my health concerns. Shame!

Dr. Dewey treated my elderly mother with a lack of respect I have never experienced. He directed all of his questions and comments to me like she was not even in the room. His lack of compassion and caring was outrageous. If I could leave zero stars I would.

I was surprised and sad to see the review by an obvious elder person that felt Dr. Dewey treated the elderly with disrespect. My last visit with Dr. D was last fall, my wellness ck. I was 79 that visit, turned 80 in July. Not only has he treated me with total respect, has gone out of his way to treat an issue a previous Ophthalmologist wouldn't deal with because of Medicare. I won't see anyone else but Dr. Dewey....he is the best! Kathleen Kelley

He treats elderly female patients with disrespect. Is this what medical care has come to? Sad. We are looking for another ophthalmologist. Lucky that he has an excellent staff to soften the blow.

Dr Dewey and his staff are the best. My endless questions were all answered kindly and with smiles. Dr Dewey explained my cataract surgery in detail; he obviously “knows his stuff!” I was nervous, but his friendly, open demeanor reassured me, and I appreciated his straightforward manner. I would encourage anyone who needs surgery to go to Colorado Springs Eye Clinic. I’m thankful many of my friends recommended Dr Dewey.

Office staff is nothing short of professional. Regrettably, Dr. Dewey, fails to take time with patients. Was left with two impressions 1) Dr. Dewey is a salesman first and surgeon second. Once he has given you his pitch it's I have other patients to meet with. 2) if you want ALL your questions answered stroke his ego first.
