Great doctor, great experience
Dr. Carlson is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. He took the time to explain my diagnosis and presented me with all of the treatment options. He backed up his recommendation with empirical evidence and experience. I agree with the previous reviewer... I would (and did) trust him with my life.

Problematic Office & Doctor
Dr. Carlson has been my cardiologist for over a year now. My last visit firstly he didn't remember me (even though I'd seen him 3-4x) and my blood pressure was 160/90. The assistant who took it said she would tell the doctor. Carlson came in the room and after recollecting who I was made some small talk and suggested I put a monitor in my chest to (simple procedure) and left after stating the monitor would need insurance authorization No mention of my B.P reading . I called the office back after receiving notification from my insurance did not approve it and asked to make an earlier appointment to discuss this (after waiting on hold for. over 30 mins, this is par for the course for Scripps, there are no direct. numbers) and spoke to someone in the office who said she would check and also I told her I needed a refill on my Eliquis (heart medicine). I never heard from the office again and I called back but after another 30 minutes on hold, hung up and have found another doctor.
