Dr. Steven Bowers, MD

He is very through and listen to patients. His diagnosis is almost always right, or else he asks for specialist to deal with it. It seems like he cares deeply for his patients. I am sadden that he is retiring :(

Dr. Bowers has been my PCP for years, since I was a kid. Before having any serious health concerns and before I had to deal with his office staff, I never had an issue with him. Since I have had some more serious health concerns and since I have had to make appointments/get referrals myself, all I have to say are terrible things. On multiple occasions, he has ignored my health concerns and told me that "you're young, it should get better on its own." Guess what health issues haven't gone away for several years? On top of that, getting a referral from him is a joke. You have to jump through hoops just to get a referral, and they REFUSE to refer out of network. It doesn't matter if you're willing to pay out of network prices, they refuse to refer you to anyone that is not in your insurance network. I am currently waiting three months to see a doctor for an emergency issue because Bowers office refuses to refer me out of network.

Dr Bowers is the reason I am able to keep going. He listens very well and seeks to understand. He is highly intelligent and a sound practitioner. He makes accurate diagnoses with a caring spirit. He knows how to help, and he does.

I think he's a wonderful doctor. I've gone to him for many years. The only thing I don't like about the office is that SOME of the nurses are snooty and rude, but that does not depict the work of Dr. Bowers in any way. I highly would recommend!

Bowers is the worst excuse for a doctor I have ever been to. At my first appt, he walked in looking down his nose at me, didn't check my MRIs or injury history (I was hit with a utility truck while riding a skateboard), he looked at pain medication and proceeded to call me an addict and say there was nothing he could do for me. After defending myself against his wild accusations he refused care, then proceeded to systematically blacklist my name from receiving any care in the city of spfld.
