Ten Stars out of Five
In my list of terror-producing experiences, tooth extraction held fast at #8...without IV sedation, #2. My (excellent) regular dentist, Gabriel Hayek, sent a referral to Dr Skoly, for consultation whenever the tooth started acting up .I called Dr. Skoly's office 3 days ago, going on a airplane trip very soon. There was no time for IV sedation or nitrous oxide. I had to make do with novacaine. The professionalism of the staff was great. Caring but no drama.Dr.Skoly knows his stuff. Again, I was in and out...very caring but no drama. Everything very straightforward and inexpensive. Bravo. 10 stars out of 5.

Bad billing practices with poor staffing
I went to Dr Skoly for a simple wisdom tooth extraction. I was told by my dentist and Dr skulys office it was a simple extraction requiring only novocain. When I arrived I was told they wanted to do x rays and I would not be charged as I had already had x rays done weeks prior at my dentists office. So I had the x rays done and was brought back to have the wisdom tooth pulled. Took less than five minutes. The doctor was very nice. Then went to the desk and paid $153.00 for my co pay. I was told I was all set, until a month later when I received a bill for $228.00. I called to inquire about my bill they then stated they charged my insurance for an impacted tooth and they would not pay it. I then explained I was told by my dentist and there office the tooth was not impacted. I also called and inquired with my dentist and had xrays sent to me showing the wisdom tooth was clearly not impacted. Dr Skulys rude staff basically said to bad. Wow!

Billing practices are questionable
We had a few issues relating to billing. One was a quote we received when we did not have insurance for wisdom tooth extraction. The quote we received was $1000 less than the actual cost. I found out they quoted me an incorrect price AFTER the surgery ... This was not nice . This quote was even talked about with the financial person..then suddenly they realize the error and add on $1000! Second I paid for a consultation. Dr skoly then submitted it to the insurance. The insurance then paid him for it..but he never reimbursed me. I then went to the dentist 4 mo later and found out he had claimed it. It is over a yr later and we still have not gotten paid back. And the last thing was Dr skoly said we would not be charged for x rays because we brought our own. He ended up doing another x ray saying we would not be charged. Well he submitted it to the insurance. Then when my son went to a new dentist ..he got x rays and we got charged. Not cool. Lots of billing mishaps.

I saw Dr. Skoly three separate times to remove a wisdom tooth each time. Each time the tooth was in bad shape and I only wanted it removed. Dr. Skoly took each tooth out with almost no pain, no bleeding, nothing. I returned to work right after. He also made time for me each time I called in pain. He is personable as well.Dr. Skoly is the best.

Once again I was amazed at the perfect work that Dr, Skoly performs. Zero pain. I was shocked that the extraction was already completed - in literally seconds! Excellent staff as well. I would highly recommend Dr, Skoly.

Dr. Stephen T. Skoley extracted my tooth and it was like a medieval torture session. He gave me so many Novocaine shots, I became ill. Then he yanked my tooth like a medieval barber. He gave me no antibiotics even though my root was infected. I suffered for months and he did nothing. Finally, my regular dentist gave me antibiotics. Please reconsider before using him for anything.

THE OVERLOOKED HERO During this time of mandated isolation and a seemingly invincible virus we celebrate all who courageously jeopardize their own health and safety in efforts of ensuring ours. One such hero deserving of utmost praise is Dr. Skoly. He and his staff have continued providing treatment daily throughout this pandemic. Being phobic of the dentist my entire life, I was more than a little afraid. However, I was so floored by their compassion I literally became preoccupied with amazement. He first explained exactly what it entailed, assuring me my comfort was as much a priority as the surgery. As I waited for Novocaine to activate his assistants popped their heads in with a smile or a thumbs up. Before I knew it he was declaring success, praising my bravery, and providing after care instructions. For the sake of brevity I’m omitting many details but suffice to say I have never experienced such compassion from a medical team. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!

BRUTAL!!! I was promised Nitrus. And, billed for it. I never got it. I realize I was on a drug that he was worried about, but at a very low dose. I went off 3 days later. I had 9 teeth pulled. I had a black eye, from the nitrus hose, that never produced. I've had it a million times, I know what it feels like. My bottom chin was bruised for 2 weeks. They were TOP teeth. His personality was great, not so much with his staff. They are very standoffish. And, rude. Not comforting at all. Never again. When it's time for my bottoms to go, I'll go somewhere else. I'd say more, but there's someone I can't bag here.

Dr. Skoly was clearly meant to be an oral surgeon. I did not feel a thing. It's been almost 24 hours and I'm yet to feel any pain. He has excellent bedside manners as well and excellent rates for services.

I don’t understand the 1?? reviews...do not be concerned. I needed a molar extracted and was pretty worried. I had one pulled when I was a kid and it was BRUTAL!! I asked him what to expect (0-10) pain wise so I could prepare myself and he said maybe a (2-3), but he couldn’t promise before he started. He pulled the tooth in about 45 seconds and I had absolutely NO PAIN!! Lastly, I am severely disabled, on a fixed income and no dental insurance...”NO CHARGE.” Good Dr., nice guy. Thank you!

Horrible office and very unprofessional. They will screw with your insurance and you will receive crazy bills that you are unaware of. Almost all the employees aren't licensed. They talk about the patients and make fun of them. The doctor does not have patients fully put under. Do not be surprised when you hear a patient say they were awake for the entire wisdom teeth procedure. Even if the patient chose and was promised to be put under.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had! I had to get all four of my IMPACTED wisdom teeth out a couple years ago and got no anesthesia when it was highly requested from me and my mother. He novacaned my whole mouth (so I couldn't swallow for hours) and my recovery was extremely painful. The procedure was painful and I cried out of pain and anxiety the whole time while he's telling the other members to "make sure I stay still" Would not recommend this surgeon.

Dr. Skoly is an incredible oral surgeon! He's very compassionate, caring, and down to earth. His patients are his Number 1 priority. He works endless hours in his practice -- even after hours to ensure that patients are recovering properly, and will answer questions or concerns in a timely fashion! His staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and make patients feel at ease. Let's face it, it's not pleasant to have any surgery, but Dr. Skoly and his staff manage to make it a positive experience.

I was PETRIFIED to have a tooth extracted..I had one done yesterday morning and all that fear and worry was for NOTHING!! Dr. Skoly and his team treated me gently and understood my anxiety. Dr. Skoly examined me and agreed I needed a tooth extraction. I was placed on a VS machine and Dr. Skoly put an IV in my arm easily. I was then given some IV relaxation/pain medication and before I knew it I was awake and the tooth was gone. 45mins I was walking out the door ZERO PAIN ZERO ISSUES!!

The extraction of this molar has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my entire life. I have very high anxiety and regardless of the amount of pain or lack there of that the specialist said I will have- I requested to be put to sleep. Tears and all throughout the entire process, I was only given local anesthesia and a gas that made me woosy. In the end I did feel some pain and besides the point I agreed to pay for the procedure to be put to sleep and was denied.NeverAgain.
