Scheduled for a colonoscopy a month in advance. 5 days prior to scheduled procedure (a Saturday) had an episode that sent me to the Emergency. Diagnosis: Acute Diverticulosis, told by ER Dr (a PA) to let Dr Payne know. Tried to call his office (closed). For an Emergency On Call, Press#2. Press #2, wait ....wait, finally The On Call# responded with "need an 802 to call this #. What # was that?? None Given. Called Monday to relate the emergency incident. It was Wednesday that I got a call back from an office worker. The young voice said "need to wait 6-8 weeks to reschedule. Dr says you need to get another Dr because you may get continued problems and he doesn't do that type of surgery anymore. I said thanks and hung up. No danger of wanting to do anything with a Dr who didn't call you back after an emergency and 5 Days later and have an office person call you back. No Compassion or Understanding, and no Emergency On Call. Don't recommend.

Dr. Payne, perform an emergency surgery on my lacerated calf muscle “gastrocnemius.” When I first entered the emergency room nurses and doctors were talking about a possible amputation. Then came in Dr. Payne who was able to perform a flawless surgery. This was about 30 years ago. If I didn’t have a scar I wouldn’t even know I ever had that severe injury. Thank you so much Dr. Payne!
